Aus der theoretischen Analyse werden Hypothesen zur Einführung von Prozessinnovationen und personalpolitischen Anreizsystemen in manager- und eigentümergeleiteten Betrieben abgeleitet. Die Hypothesen werden auf der Basis von Betriebsdaten empirisch überprüft.

Transition metal-catalyzed reactions play a key role in many transformations of synthetic organic chemistry. For most of these reactions, noble metals, for example, palladium, have been used as catalysts. Over the last two decades, more and more first row transition metals have been applied as catalysts for organic reactions, with iron taking the center stage. The driving forces behind this development are not only the high costs for the noble metals but also their toxicity. Iron is the most abundant transition metal in the Earth’s crust, and thus, it is considerably cheaper than the precious noble metals. Moreover, iron compounds are involved in many biological processes, and thus, iron exhibits a low toxicity. Because of this low toxicity, iron-catalyzed reactions are important for an environmentally benign sustainable chemistry. However, iron catalysts are not only investigated to replace noble metals; they offer many applications in synthesis beyond those of classical noble metal catalysts. Several articles of the present book emphasize the complementarity of iron-catalyzed reactions as compared to reactions catalyzed by noble metals. The book shows intriguing recent developments and the current standing of iron-catalyzed reactions as well as applications to organic synthesis.

The book deals with mycotoxins, their presence in various types of food, and how to prevent their presence in food . In addition to well-known molecules, such as aflatoxins or fumonisins, some contributors have dealt with emerging mycotoxins (e.g., alternaria toxins, botryodiplodin). Readers of the book can also find a new approach to reducing aflatoxins and fumonisins in food. In conclusion, the book presents both new mycotoxins and new information on old mycotoxins.

This volume analyses the societal legacy of Lutheranism in Finland in broad terms. It contributes to the recent renewed interest in the history of religion in Finland and the Nordic countries by bringing together researchers in history, political science, economics, social psychology, education, linguistics, media studies, and theology to examine the mutual relationship between Lutheranism and society in Finland. The two main foci are (i) the historical effects of the Reformation and its aftermath on societal structures and on national identity, values, linguistic culture, education, and the economy, and (ii) the adaptation of the church – and its theology – to changes in the geo-political and sociocultural context. Important sub-themes include nationalism and religion, the secularization and institutionalization of traditional values, multiple Protestant ethics, and long continuities in history. Overall the book argues that large changes in societies cannot be explained via ‘secular’ factors alone, such as economic development or urbanization, but that factors pertaining to religion provide substantial explanatory power for understanding societal change and the resulting societal structures.

Nach zaghaften Anfängen in den achtziger Jahren werden heute Unternehmen mit zahlreichen Organisationspflichten aus den verschiedensten Rechtsbereichen konfrontiert. Prominentes Beispiel ist der Finanzbereich, der bis weit ins Detail reichende Vorgaben zur Einrichtung von Risikomanagementsystemen umzusetzen hat. Aber auch viele andere Bereiche des öffentlichen Rechts kennen derartige Organisationspflichten. Im Zivilrecht und auch im Strafrecht ist die Figur der Organisationspflicht ebenfalls seit langem bekannt, aber kaum in seine übergreifenden Zusammenhänge gestellt worden. Das Werk beleuchtet die verschiedenen Rechtsgrundlagen für die Organisationspflichten, ihre verfasssungsrechtlichen Grundlagen, die betriebswirtschaftlichen Konkretisierungsversuche einschließlich der Qualitätsmanagement- und Standardisierungsbewegungen auf der Ebene der ISO, die zivil- und strafrechtlichen Auswirkungen bis hin zur Haftung im Konzern und der persönlichen Verantwortlichkeit der Organvertreter. Transformation wird als Wandel einer kollektiven Identität verstanden. Daher hat diese Analyse einen wirtschaftsanthropologischen Zuschnitt: Gefragt wird nach den nicht-ökonomischen Voraussetzungen ökonomischer Entwicklung. Basis ist ein institutionalistischer, teilweise institutionenökonomischer Theorieansatz (unter Beachtung von <I>public choice</I>-Aspekten). Empirische Befunde aus der Entwicklungsökonomie, aus der Transitions- und aus der Integrationsforschung (etwa Europas) werden herangezogen. Es interessieren somit die <I>polity-, politics-</I> und <I>policy</I>-Voraussetzungen der Transformation als Suche nach einem (die Sozialordnung einschließenden) «Wirtschaftsstil». Als entscheidend werden die «sozialen Kosten» begriffen. Daher interessieren räumliche und inter-personelle Disparitäten infolge des Transformationsgeschehens.

This Special Issue is a collection of selected papers from the 3rd European Congress on Imaging Infection and Inflammation (www.nuclearmedicinediscovery.org/events.asp) and results of consensus sessions by major experts in the field including Nuclear Medicine physicians, Radiologists, Clinicians and microbiologists. The Journal of Clinical Medicine (JCM) provides an opportunity to publish data that were presented and discussed at the meeting in Rome in December 2019.
