Cash for Cars Armadale: Turn Your Old Vehicle into Instant Cash

Armadale sits at that interesting point where Perth’s suburban sprawl meets the foothills of the Darling Range. It’s a place with a bit more space than the inner suburbs—bigger blocks, more room for sheds and workshops, and that slight country feel, even though you’re still technically part of the metro area.

It Is Time for the Great Unification of Mankind

Hu Jiaqi

Hu Jiaqi proposes human great unification as the core solution to extinction risks. Nation-state competition blocks global tech restriction, and only a world government can realize unified tech control and solve global problems. He proves mature hardware conditions and reduced resistance make unification feasible, noting it’s a historical trend and major powers like China bear key opportunities and responsibilities.

The World is Crazy

Hu Jiaqi criticizes humanity’s blind pursuit of scientific progress via three risky endeavors: the Hadron Collider, nanorobot research and extraterrestrial intelligence search. He exposes the absurdity of ignoring tech’s uncertainty and catastrophic risks for curiosity, honor and profit, warning reckless experiments accumulate extinction probability and unrestrained exploration leads to self-destruction.

Imbalanced Evolution May Lead to Human Extinction

Hu Jiaqi

From an evolutionary perspective, Hu Jiaqi argues humanity’s core peril is the imbalance between booming creativity (driving explosive tech) and sluggish rationality (trapping humans in competition, environmental plunder). This imbalance turns tech into a destructive weapon, exacerbating global crises, and will lead to human extinction if unaddressed.

Further Development of Science and Technology Will Certainly Soon Extinguish Mankind

Hu Jiaqi

Hu Jiaqi rigorously infers that unrestrained tech development dooms humanity to self-extinction. Tech has exponentially boosted human destructive power; extinction means will inevitably emerge, with risks of intentional use by irrational people and accidental outbreaks from tech’s uncertainty. He warns extinction looms within centuries without decisive prevention.

Evelina, Or, the History of a Young Lady's Entrance into the World

Fanny Burney

PD-US

Evelina or the History of a Young Lady's Entrance into the World is a novel written by English author Fanny Burney and first published in 1778. Although published anonymously, its authorship was revealed by the poet George Huddesford in what Burney called a "vile poem." In this 3-volume epistolary novel, title character Evelina is the unacknowledged, but legitimate daughter of a dissipated English aristocrat, thus raised in rural seclusion until her 17th year. Through a series of humorous events that take place in London and the resort town of Hotwells, near Bristol, Evelina learns to navigate the complex layers of 18th-century society and earn the love of a distinguished nobleman. This sentimental novel, which has notions of sensibility and early romanticism, satirizes the society in which it is set and is a significant precursor to the work of Jane Austen and Maria Edgeworth, whose novels explore many of the same issues. Energy Justice Across Borders

CC BY

This book is open access under a CC BY 4.0 license. We must find new and innovative ways of conceptualizing transboundary energy issues, of embedding concerns of ethics or justice into energy policy, and of operationalizing response to them. This book stems from the emergent gap; the need for comparative approaches to energy justice, and for those that consider ethical traditions that go beyond the classical Western approach. This edited volume unites the fields of energy justice and comparative philosophy to provide an overarching global perspective and approach to applying energy ethics. We contribute to this purpose in four sections: setting the scene, practice, applying theory to practice, and theoretical approaches. Through the chapters featured in the volume, we position the book as one that contributes to energy justice scholarship across borders of nations, borders of ways of thinking and borders of disciplines. The outcome will be of interest to undergraduate and graduate students studying energy justice, ethics and environment, as well as energy scholars, policy makers, and energy analysts.

Coastal Environments

CC BY

In recent years, coastal environments have drawn an increasing awareness globally, regionally, or locally as in many coastal regions, the rapid industrial, urban, and agricultural development has caused dramatic land use and land cover (LULC) changes and various water pollution events in coastal environments. These environmental consequences of human activities exacerbate the effects of regional and global climate change on the hydrological cycle between the land and ocean, and these effects are frequently hazardous or destructive to coastal regions around the world. Remote sensing and geographic information systems (GIS) technologies are thoroughly adopted and applied to monitor the dynamic change of coastal environments, such as coastal LULC, water quality, and marine ecosystem.

Magnetic Records of Extreme Geological Events

CC BY

Recent advances in environmental magnetism offer the opportunity to link the magnetic signature of marine and continental rocks to the paleoenvironmental and paleoclimatic settings that controlled their formation or deposition, as well as to post-depositional events, such as diagenesis, that can alter their primary signature. This Research Topic assembles studies that used state of the art rock magnetic techniques to unravel the causes and effects of catastrophic geological events, including tsunami, meteorite impacts, Archean oxygenation event, geomagnetic reversals, and global climate changes linked to large volcanic eruptions.
