We challenge you to be BOLD and create something for the NEXT generation of Scotch whisky consumers, think outside of the box, take inspiration from non - whisky global drinks trends, moments of consumption, and deliver a BALANCED, FLAVOURSOME cocktail that is modern, with wow factor, and is a little bit EXTRA. You must demonstrate why you have chosen a particular whisky from the Chivas Extra 13 range, what inspired you, and how/why your creation breaks scotch whisky tradition and drives to the modern world. C H I V A S E X T R A 1 3 C O M P E T I T I O N CHALLENGE 1: Create a Chivas Extra 13 cocktail that BREAKS scotch whisky convention and could be perceived as NOT a traditional scotch whisky cocktail. BREAKING CONVENTION SCORE /20 How appealing is the glass/vessel and general visual appearance of the drink and garnish? 3. PRESENTATION/AESTHETICS SCORE /10 How does the inspirtation/story connect to the final serve? Does it demonstrate and idea of creativity, and being EXTRA? 2. THE STORY SCORE /10 A drink should always be pleasing. Modern aesthetic is important, and creating a unique flavour is great. But is it delicious? Would you order a second? 4. BALANCE, TASTE & AROMA* SCORE /20 Scoring C H I V A S E X T R A 1 3 C O M P E T I T I O N CHALLENGE 1: BE REGAL, BE EXTRA • The Challenges for the Semi Finals will be designed by the creative minds of the bar managers at the UAE's 4 bars that made it onto the World’s 50 Best Bars 2022 list. • The bartenders who make it through into the Semi Final must be available to attend The Blend Workshop in Dubai on Monday, June 12 th where the next challenges will be presented. *Flights, transport and hotel will be organized by the regional Chivas Regal team for the semi finalists who are not based in Dubai.
