Whichever the case D may be; either of these phenomena's is a profound catalyst required in the development of a society. The ability to change direction is at the heart of innovation. One thing that's notable is that innovators are rarely stuck in their ways, as they are always willing to change and then change again. And the message for would-be innovators is to be flexible enough to change. We've all had bright ideas, but usually they lie dormant and following ideas through from creation to commercialization is no easy task. Sometimes, the key is telling a good story about your idea as storytelling has always been important in business, of course, but in today's environment, with executives and investor attention stretched thin by information overload, the softer stuff is ever more important for getting ideas noticed. It would be lovely to hear stories of your ideas and inventions in this new year. Aloha 2020 ew year is about new heights, new achievements, N new experiences, New Ideas. Welcome to year 2020. In achieving this vision there was a call for a system shift approach where we had to transform our education for a future proof world. Prior to take –over, the schools were above average on the curriculum, passing students through the examination factories and producing excellent results, we identified the urgent need to develop in them, core skills which are the “currency of the 21st century”. Over the last four years, the transformation of the school's curriculum began but not about change for the sake of change, but it has to do with evolution. We believe that true transformation takes time and happens gradually. To us it is more than just a quick fix-in essence but a philosophy. At the pre-school and elementary levels, our pupils are learning foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, social competence, knowledge and understanding of the world and problem solving skills. In the college, we are evolving to provide practical introduction to Transforming Education at Egbin's Powerfields Group Of Schools core skills. We have discovered that in the 21st century, six core skills are essential in the development of individuals ready to take on the challenges of the future. Gradually we are integrating activities that will improve our students · Collaborative and communication skills. · Creativity and imagination. · Critical thinking and problem solving. · Leadership and personal development. · Digital literacy and · Citizenship skills. We are making good progress with achieving this, while looking at the inclusion of personal digital tools and an electronic portal and other classroom technology that will aid learning, to afford learners and staff opportunity to share more ideas that promote transformative education. The school focuses on a robust type of education and we leverage extensively on the cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains to groom the total child. “ - Kingsley Okotie The school focuses on a robust type of education and we leverage extensively on the cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains to groom the total child. Keep on rocking. he GEP programme was an enlightening T experience that provided the perfect platform for our career journey into the energy and power sector. It exposed us to the technical, commercial and political aspects of the sector. To further emphasize the need for a well-rounded training experience, Egbin Power Plc exposed us to two major entrepreneurial and financial power projects namely: Potential of Big Data analytics to entire value chain of the power industry and Commercialization of Egbin's potable water. The GEP Xperience Energized Data An Unearthed Synergy The Encore The Big Data project exposed us to the enormous potential benefits of having a data-driven industry in resolving enduring operational, legislation and revenue problems in the industry. More importantly, we were able to proffer workable, data-driven solutions to specific problems stalling the growth of the industry across the value-chain. These includes gas restrictions, transmission constraints, eligible customer regime, and electricity theft. The innovative solutions birthed by the graduate engineers' collaborative efforts exemplifies Egbin's corporate commitment to sustainable and transformative growth of the Nigeria Power Industry. The project gave us the opportunity to dig deep and locate the gallant roots of Egbin in a bid to mend some of the weak ones. All teams involved were tactful and dexterous in unraveling the limitations of the plant and in the invention of a business brand. Capitalizing on one of the assets of Egbin Power Plc, the water bottling project made inroads into the commercialization of a product from start to finish. The comprehensive feasibility study gave us relevant entrepreneurial and business development skills. Our graduation marked the seamless synchronization into the power industry. It was a day of celebration of the various skills we had acquired during the intensive nine months training at ETC, NAPTIN and at Sahara Training Centre. Kola Adesina, MD Sahara Power Group, during his address highlighted the various innovative and sustainable projects which the group is involved in; including green energy, automation of power plant processes, load optimization, among others. We were thrilled, challenged and eager to become part of the solutions to the power sector. Sahara Power group offers a place where there are opportunities to be creative; an organization that encourages daring solutions to problems. We anticipate applying the skills we have learnt, both technical and commercial for the growth of the company. Simply, we are proud we went through the Graduate Engineering Programme.
