Please read th e user manu al carefully a n d ch eck whether all spare parts is perfect before driving in order to ensure your safe driving. 2. Overloading is p rohibited strictly. 3. It is recommended to carry out charging every day, to charg e after electric quantity of batt ery exhausts is prohibited s tr ictly 4. Inside the battery box of this scooter there is a safety power source, when battery box is taken out, b oth jacks in lower end (namely positive pole + and negative pole - of battery) ca n’t be touched by hand (particul arly damp hand s) at the sa m e t i me, and also be prohibited to touch metal body (like key, etc.) or else unlimited short - circuit current produced will cause an accident and burn of human body. Please give a great attention to the above. 5. Please don’t detac h and disassemb le spare pa r t s or rebuild electric scooter by itself, please purchase standard spare parts from the dealer of Z - TECH brand electr ic scooter if to replace spare parts. Please repair timely if find power - cut don’ t happen when do a front or rea r brake. 6. Thi s scooter c a n dri ve normally under the condition that depth of deposit water don’t surpass center of electric hub when driving on road surface with dropsy in rainy weather. Electric hub will be infiltrated by w ater and cause a trouble from electric hub if dropsy of r o ad su rface surpass center of electric hub. R iding safely General Rules • Always wear an approved helmet when riding y our scooter , and follow the helmet manufacturer’s instructions for fit, use and c are of your helmet. • When ridin g obey the same road laws a s a ll other road vehicles, including giving way to pedestrians, and stopping at red lights and stop signs. • Ride predi ctably and in a straight line. Never ride against traffic. • Use correct signal lig hts to indicate turning or sto pping. • Ride def ensively. T o o the r road users, you may be hard to see. • Concentrate on the path ahead. Avoid potholes, gravel, wet road markings, oil, curbs, speed bumps, drain grates and other obstacles. • Expect the unexpected such as opening car doors or cars backing out of concea l e d dri veways. • Be very careful at intersections and when preparing to pass other vehicles. • Familiarize yourself with all the scooter 's features. Practice signal lights, braking and the use of horns. • Don't carry packages or pass engers that will interfere w it h y our visibility or control of the scooter . Don't use items that may restrict your hearing. • Maintain a comfortabl e stopping distance from all other riders, vehicles and objects. Safe braking dis tance and forces are subject t o the prevailing weather c o n di tio ns. Wet Weather • In wet weather you need to take extra care. • Brake earlier, you will take a longer distance to stop. • Decrease your riding speed, avoid sudden braking, and take corners with ad ditional caution. • Be more vis ible on the road • Wear re f l ec tiv e clothing and use safety lights. • Potholes and slippery surfaces such as line markings and train tracks all bec ome more hazardous when wet. Night Riding • Ensure that the front lights are on. • Wear reflective and light colo ured clothing. • Ride at ni g h t onl y if necessary. Slow down and use familiar roads with street lighting, if possible. WARNING! The product is no t allowed to use by handicapped people! Par t of electric quantity will be consumed if t urn on headlight when drive i n the dark, therefore that w ill cause continual mileage is reduced correspondently. Please note that the ligh ting time of head l ight in the dark should be c ontrolled suitabl y. • In orde r to ensure the life of battery, the users w ith enough conditions should keep charging as soon as pos sible anytime after use to make the battery keeping in f ull status. You have to c harge timely when indication of electric quant ity is only at a red light. Adjust ment on wheels • Fore wheel should b e put in front fork, requirin g the eq ual c learance from left and right, clearance i s ≤3mm . (See Pic. 3 ) • Back wheel should be put in fork of scooter frame, requiring the equal clearance from left an d right, clearance is ≤3.5mm. • When tightening of nuts of fore wheel and back wheel is carried o ut, t he tightening torque of fore wheel should not be less than 22N.m whereas that of back wheel should not be less than 30N.m. About Charging Before riding the electric scooter for the first time, you must charge the batteries for 4 - 6 hours using t he su pplied charger. To charge, remove the pr o t ective cover from the charging socket. Then plug in the charger into the charging socket, before plugging the char ger into a wall outlet. IMPORTANT CHARGING INSTRUCTION: The Power Switch Lock must be in th e off position when the electric scoote r is be i n g charged. All batteries charge simultaneously. You should charge your electric scooter after each ride. You must charge your electric scooter if it has not been used for 30 days or more. Recharging time is betw een 4 - 6 hours. WARNING: Do not p lace th e battery near heat or fire. Do not expose the charger near water. The way of charging The battery of the scooter should be charged when finish riding or the battery is used up, the way of charge falls int o two kinds: 1. One is charging with the re moved b at tery cell 2. Another one is charging with the battery cell on the scooter . Please master correct ways of charging as followed: Remove the battery box 3. Open the lock of battery cell box on the base. 4. Take off the batt ery cell box by pulling the handle of the bo x. 5. Put the battery cell box back to the base and lock it after charging. When the battery is being removed for c harging After the battery box is removed, as we mention before, please notice that the ele ctrod e “+” “ - ”can never be t ouched by hands es pe cia lly wet hands and the electrodes are also prohibited to be touched by other metal conductor! Do not charge the batt ery up - side down, otherwise the life time of the battery will be severely affected. Put th e bat tery charger in a flat level, and first pl ug i n the output plug to the charging socket of the battery box. Then, plug in the input plug (230V) to the power sock et and charging is started. (See Pic. 4 ) After charging is finished, first pull o ut the po we r i nput plug (230V) and th en pull out the outp ut plug. D uration of charging • When the input and output terminal are connected, the red indication light of the charger will be turned on, showing that the power is being connected. • When the battery is char g ed f or the first time, 8 - 10 hours should be sp en t for charging. When the green indication light of the charger is turned on, showing that the battery is basical ly full and it will switch to trickle charge mode to ensure that over - charging will not occur. I t ta kes 2 - 8 hours for n ormal charging. • This ch ar ger has the protection device for over - charging. Long - time charging should not be more than 24 hours without aff ecting the life time of the battery. Matters need attention for charging • The charge doesn’t n ee d t o be grounded. • During charging, please place the charger in safety location which is beyond the reach of children. • The bat tery should not be used when it is not full, otherwise the life time of the battery will be a ffe ct ed. • Do not charge wit h charger from other b r an ds and the charger is also not for other storage battery. • The charger has 230V circuit; please do not dismantle. • When the charger is being used or stored, liquor and metal charge should be prevented from g oin g into the inside of th e charger, and it also sh ould be free from falling and bumpiness to avoid injury. • When the charger is being used, it should not be covere d with other stuff. • The charger is the type of indoor use. Please keep it in a dry, well - vent ila te d circumstance when i t is under use. • During ch arging, if peculiar smell is smelt or the temperature is too high, please stop charging immediately and send it back to sales department of maintenance department. WARNING! The attached cables of the ba tte ry charger can be us ed for the battery - charge r o nly! About riding Once you have completed the initial charge you are ready to ride. You must be aware of all l ocal laws and ordinances that govern and/or restrict the use of electric scooter . The laws an d ordinances vary gre atly from municipality to mu nicipality. It is your responsibility to know and abide by your local restrictions. To ride, turn the power swi tch lock to the “on” position. The power switch is located on the front bottom of the seat Th e battery gauge and the power indicator loca ted at the panel will illuminate when the power is on. Hold onto the handlebars with both hands. Assume a well - bala nced position on the scooter and push off with your foot. Your right hand will control the ac ce lerator. Twist the accelerator slowly to av oid a sudden rush of speed forward. The speed of the scooter will increase as you twist the accelerator more. Releas e the accelerator and apply the brakes to stop your scooter . You will control the speed o f t he scooter by using b oth the accelerator and t he brakes. When the brake handle is squeezed it cuts power to the accelerator. Matters need attention during jour ney • For economic use of battery and motor, please use your feet to assist driving when the sco ot er is started or c limbing, prolonging the li fe t ime effectively. • When the scooter is started just now, the scooter should be accelerated slowly to avoid wasting power during instantaneous speed - up or damaging electrical parts. It is better to drive wi th a s sistance of feet. • On the precondition of saf e ty, he should try his best not to brake or start too much in order to save power. • The controller of the scooter has the function of over - load protection. If it is over - loaded, the power will be cut automati call y , when everything goes back to normal, the p o wer will be connected automatically. • During driving, it should be avoided that holding the speed - adjusting handle a fter braking, to prevent damaging the machine part or motor by over - load (stuck rotation) o f el e ctrical motor. • The maximum carrying capacity is 110kg, it is better to ride under the rated carrying capacity 110kg (including the driver). Do not drive overspe ed. Matters need attention for parking • When you get off the scooter and push it forward, t he p ower switch should b e shut off to avoid unint e nt ional turning on the handle and the accident can be avoided by sudden start - up of the scooter • It is suggested tha t the scooter should be parked indoor or within carport. Don’t forget to shut off power an d t a ke off the key. • In p ublic places, the scooter sh ould be parked in the regulated spot according to traffic regulations. Don’t forget to shut off power and take off the key. Maintenance and service For the safety of driving, please keep your scooter i n o p timal condition at the same time and carry ou t p eriodical maintenance and washing. Items for periodical maintenance and self - checking • Check whether the nuts of fore wheel and back wheel are tight or not. Check whether the fore fork and the scooter fr ame work well with de viation. • Check whether the g roo v e pattern of cover tyre is worn or splits and if air pressure of fore tyre and back tyre is normal or not • Check whether the gear system is working smoothly or not. • Check whether the horn and back reflec tor are intact or not • Check whether the braking thr e ad is working under lubrication and there is no clamping stagnation. • If the scooter has not been used for long, please notice that charging should be executed periodically (normally, one time in a month to m aintain life t ime of the battery) • In the winte r, place the battery at a warm place. Explanation on maintenance and washing Do not wash with high pressure water column to avoid accidents caused by wet inner electrical parts. The dirt on paint surface or t he surface of plas tic parts should be cleaned wit h cloth, neutral agent should be used, and then clean with dry cloth. Please use lubrication oil to mainta in metal parts of the scooter Oil should not be applied to fore brake rubber and back brake rubb er, hold brake, rim, t yre battery and controller. Ple ase ti ghten at an y moment, oth erwise danger may occu r. About maintenance of storage battery and know - how of power saving • This scooter adopts lead - acid storage battery out of service as power source. Life of battery is relevant closely with correct method of ap plication. • Us ers with enough conditions should ke ep charging anytime after use. • Please deposit it under the conditions of full charges, and charge timely at regular intervals if don’t use it for a long time. • Please rotate speed - adjusting handle slowl y, y ou shouldn’t ad just it too quickly when speed up • I n general the vehicle speed at 15 - 18km/h is the most saving. • Excessive braking action should be avoided when you drive the electric scooter • Representation of Oiling position Prohibited • Oiling posi tion re quired (to oil it once at the interval of 1~2mont hs) • Replace lubricating grease of front shaft and middle shaft once at the interval of 2 years. • Inside cove r tube of brake steel rope should be added machine oil at the interval of half year.
