Job Title: Aerospace Technician 1 D ivision : Research & Development Reports to: Test & Evalu a tion Lead FLSA Status: Non - Exempt Job Description: Responsible for assisting in setting up, check ing, and correcting operational and experimental electrical ma chinery, circuitry and equipmen t adhering to pre - established guidelines and engineering specifications . Assists senior engineering technicians and engineers in the testing of mechanical componen ts, equipment , and machinery such as engines, instruments cont rols and machines. Performs a v ariety of tasks in conjunction with the maintenance of the facility and testing support Performs rudimentary fabrication , construction and manufacturing functions. Other duties may be assigned. Requirements: Requires a hi g h school degree or i ts equivale nt with zero to three ( 0 - 3 ) previous years of experience in the field or in a related area . Position requires the aptitude to learn how to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and dea l with several abstract and conc rete variables. Proven teamwork and interpersonal skills and ability to plan, organize, analyze and problem solve under the direction of a senior engi neering technician or a cognizant engineer . Proactive in determining goals and objectives and pursuing the necessary course of action. The successful individual will be capable of working independently and as part of a multi - disciplinary team. The individ ual must have good written and oral communication skills and the ability to prepare and deliver technical p resentations. Physical Dem ands: Individua ls may need to sit or stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods th rough out the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the wo rkday. Proper lifting techniques required. W ill require working in both indoor and out door en vironments.
