Dear Sir and Brethren, I enclose Petition Form for a new Lodge, duly signed by the Master and Wardens of the Lodge of Rectitude, No. 5882 (Item 3 of summons attached refers), together with Clearance Certificates of the founders listed. May I respectfully place before you the reasons as to why the founder-s are desirous of forming a new Lodge: - THE BRETHREN LISTED ON THE PETITION HAVE BRim MEETING REGULARLY EVERY WEDNESDAY EVENING FOR THE WELL BEING OF FREEMASONRY AT THE RAVENSBOURNE HOTEL, CATFORD, S.E.6. FOR THE LAST THREE AND A HALF YEARS. INITIALLY IT WAS THEIR INTENTION TO JOIN TOGETHER WITH THE ONE AIM OF HELPING AND ASSISTING THE YOUNGER BRETHREN WHO WERE VERY KEEN IN THE PRINCIPLES OF FREEMASONRY. NATURALLY AS THE YEARS WENT BY THE RELATIONSHIP OF THE BRETHREN CONCERNED BECAME FURTHER CEMENTED, AND THEY NOW FEEL VERY DESIROUS IN SEEKING'YOUR ASSISTANCE IN FORMING A LODGE TO PUT THEIR IDEALS ON A FIRM AND PROPER BASIS. THE BRETHREN LISTED ARE THE ORIGINAL MEMBERS WHO COMlVIENCED THE WEDNESDAY EVENING GATHERINGS AND WHO HAVE GIVEN SERIOUS THOUGHT AND PLANNING IN THE HOPES OF SUCH A VENTURE. APART FROM THE MAJORITY OF THE BRETHREN RESIDING IN THE NORTH WEST KENT AREA, THEIR MAIN WISHES ARE TO BE IN THE PROVINCE OF KENT AND TO SERVE THE PROVINCIAL GRAND MASTER FOR WHOM THEY HAVE THE HIGHEST RESPECT AND ADMIRATION.
