First of all, thank you for your trust and support for us! Xtreme Cooler will bring you comfort and health. Xtreme Cooler, which uses the most advanced evaporation technology, is elaborately produced under advanced management. This brochure is especially for Xtreme Cooler X3 series. Please read this carefully before use. Air cooler must be installed in the place which is well ventilated and dry to ensure that it is bringing 100% fresh air into the room. Avoid bringing cool air into a closed room, and there must be enough exhaust quantity (at least 0.8m² per 3600m³/h for natural exhaust, and at least 85% of the airflow for mechanical exhaust), and natural exhaust and mechanical exhaust could be combined. When first operated, the air cooler must be debugged, and ensure that running current should not exceed rated current. Be sure to prevent it from any source of fire. Try to make voltage within ±10V. Air cooler will not start or be on and off repeatedly if the voltage is too low, and it could easily be damaged if being operated under too low or too high voltage continuously. On-wall controller and control lines should be kept away from strong electromagnetism interference sources, prevent them from being paralleled with the power lines. If required, ensure the parallel space is at least 30cm. So wherever it is installed, there should be 4 steel tubes, whose diameter are 30 mm and height are 35 mm, joined with the bracket, and are fixed in the locating holes, in order to avoid movements of the air cooler. Installation of bracket (Not Supplied) • Bracket on roof • Bracket on side wall • How to use Controller Installation requirements 7 Electricity: 5 Amp 3 pin socket point near the unit should be ideally installed indoor, so rainwater doesn't contact the electrical point. Xtreme Cooler comes with 5 meter power cable and 5Amp plug top. Water: 1 regular angle/straight stop cock (½”) point near the water inlet connection. Xtreme Cooler provide 18" connection pipe (Geyser type connection, same size). Drainage: 2" flexible pipe can be used, this water can be used for gardening, toilet or can be connected to the existing water harvesting system, else connect it to the drain. 8 • Instruction to the display contents 1. Auto control function (optional function, should be equipped with temperature and humidity sensor) When the cooler is equipped with temperature and humidity sensor, it has auto control function. When running in auto control mode, the control system will automatically control the start, stop, speed of the fan according to the preset temperature, the current detected ambient temperature, the trend of temperature change, the running time of the cooler and so on. When the ambient temperature is higher than the set temperature, the system will increase the fan speed automatically, when the ambient temperature is lower than the set temperature, the system will automatically decrease the fan speed. And when the ambient o temperature is lower than the set temperature by 1 C or lower, the fan speed will be decreased until it stops. Besides, the system will automatically make the comparison between the current detected humidity with pre-set humidity, when the detected humidity is higher than pre-set one, the system will stop the pump automatically. When humidity decreases to -5% of the pre-set one, the pump will automatically restart. The system will detect the temperature and humidity every 2 minutes, here "temperature and humidity display" shows the current detected ambient temperature and humidity, and they will be shown every 3 seconds in turn. Communication trouble: line under ONLINE will flash with trouble light on, meaning at present the controller does not detect the cooler. This trouble should be cleared by manually. 2. Lack of water trouble: when there is lack of water, water-inlet will show sparkingly with trouble light (red) on, when the water level is recovered, the trouble will be cleared automatically. 3. Drain block trouble: clean icon will display sparkingly with trouble light (red) on; this trouble should be cleared manually--to clear block first, then press CLEAN twice. 4. Fan trouble: Vent icon will display sparkingly (only for those coolers having fan-protect device) with trouble light (red) on. This trouble will be cleared after restart the machine manually. • Water and Power Supply (1) Clean and soft water should always be used, and pressure is required to be between 0.15 to 0.3 MPa (1.5~3kgf/cm ) (2) There should be a valve (DN20) near the water inlet hose and a pipe joint for cleaning. (3) Ensure the single-phase voltage is 220±10V. (4) A Circuit breaker should always be installed in the main fuse box. 16 • Points for Designing Duct System (1) The material of ducts should be galvanized sheets, or glass steel, plastic, aluminum foil sheets, and etc. (2) Grilles or diffusers should be installed at the places where cooling is needed. The specification of them could be decided according to airflow and air speed. And the material could be aluminum, wood and etc., and the type could be selected according to actual situations. We recommend Double Deflection Air Grille with 3-6m/s airflow speed, and a damper is recommended. (3) The duct should be designed that, the wind velocity is 6-8m/s in the main duct, 4-5 m/s in the branches, and 3-4 m/s at the end. (4) The design of the duct system is required to be economical, low resistance and low noise. And to reduce the resistance, the curvature radius of the elbow should not be less than 1.5 times of the width of the elbow. (5) The system should not be over 30 meters. (6) It is much better to make the duct go straight, avoiding corners and branches, to reduce resistance. (7) Auto swing air grilles as well as duct could be used for side discharge air coolers. (8) According to different airflow, the duct should be designed with sections of different specifications to be connected together. The longer the duct is, the smaller the section should be. (9) If there are branches, dampers should be fixed to adjust airflow. • Operation (1) Is the machine horizontal? (2) Is the draining pipe installed? (3) Is the water supply system leaking? (4) Is the water level normal? (5) Is the power connected correctly? (6) Are the control lines fixed correctly? (7) Are there any sundries in the tank? (8) Are there any sundries in the fan or the vent sleeve? (9) Is the power or the voltage normal? (10) Is the machine running under the rated power scope? (11) Is the machine shaking when running? Check before Operation 17 (1) Monthly: Use the soft brush to clean outer side of the pads without removing them from the panel, make sure that the pads are completely dry. before performing cleaning task run the cooler dry (without pump) for 3 hours, so it becomes complete dry. Do not use high pressure water or hot water (2) Yearly: Remove side panels & remove pads from the holding clips. First clean the pads with brush (see Monthly cleaning) and then use a water spray/running tap water to clean the pads. This will remove dust from the pads. NOTE: Shut off electrical power and water prior to any work on Xtreme Cooler. (1) Clean water reservoir: Use clean function on the controller to drain the water, use cloth or water pipe to rinse out dissolved salts, silt, etc. If necessary, use a sturdy nylon brush or plastic scraper to loosen deposits. (2) In order to guarantee the air cooler operate in optimum conditions, it is suggested to never turn off the auto clean function.
