EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR East Hampton Historical Society East Hampton, NY We are seeking a full - time Executive Director to oversee and manage ou r s even mus eum and historic sites and our collection of over 15,000 decorative arts, fine art, and artifacts. W e curre ntly have two full - time and two part - time staff members in the advancement, edu cation, curatorial and maintenance departments, and many volunteers. The Execu tive Director oversee s the day - to - day operations of the staff, contracted services, facilities, p ro gra ming, exhibitions, fundraising events, social media presence, and will perform a lead role in grant writing and the organization ’ s development Locat ed in East Hampton , New Yor k (settled in 1648), the East Hampton Historical Society was fou nded in 1 92 1 to serve its res i dents and visitors of East Hampton by collecting, preserving, presenting and inter preting the material, cultural and economic heri tage of the tow n. Our current annual budget is approximately $800,000 and is expected to increase. The ra ng e of our activit ies can be seen on our website www. EastHamptonHistory.org The Executive Director reports directly to the Board of Trustee s which currently has 20 members who head 10 active advisory committ ees suc h as Building & Grounds, Collections, Edu cation , Fundraising and Special Events. Executive Director qualifications : Bachelor ’ s or master ’ s deg ree in h istor y, museum studies, nonprofit ad ministration, or equivalent degree program. Experience in mus eum or nonprofit work for a minimum of 3 years. Work ing k nowled ge of grant applications , current mu s e u m best practices and government mandated standards. Salary Ran ge $100 - 150K commensurate with experience plus health benefits .
