Slow Process Our Story Growing up my favourite time of the day was the sleepy hours of the midday when my mom would nap. Sneaky little kids that we were, my brothers and I would climb the sprawling jamun tree to get our daily dose of the juicy, tart flesh. We would always return with bright purple stains on our t-shirts much to our mother’s dismay. Sātmya is a culmination of my mother’s influence and subsequently my wholehearted attempt to follow a healthy and holistic lifestyle. Inspired by our family recipes using the herbs, fruits, and vegetables of our farm we bring to you a finely curated selection of a healthy and fresh range of herbal home remedies and organic jams. Sātmya’s Amla Giloy is organically grown on our family’s Amla tree to make sure that the Giloy we bring you has the added benefits of fibrous Amla as well. Giloy is most commonly consumed as a tonic and is found effective in reducing symptoms of many debilitating ailments. From its leaf to stem and root - all parts of the plant are used to prepare various nourishing concoctions. How to Consume : Add 1 tsp (3g) of our Sātmya Amla Giloy to 150 ml water. Boil till it is reduced to half. Filter and drink warm. Sweeten with honey (optional). Take 1-2 times daily. Amla Giloy Brew Sanskrit for Giloy is “Amritavalli”, which loosely translates as the root of immortality. In Ayurvedic medicine, it is considered to be one of the three Amrit plants along with garlic and haritaki. For centuries this creeper plant has been revered for its abundant medicinal properties. A powerhouse of antioxidants, Giloy has proved to be a powerful Antipyretic (reduces fever), Analgesic (relieves pain), and Cardioprotective Blood Purifier. It also has Anti Inflammatory properties which help in reducing internal swellings. Some studies suggest that it may aid in controlling diabetes and general anxiety. Ingredients: Organically Grown Amla Giloy. Satmya’s NeemGiloy Brew is packed full of benefits of both the giloy stem and giloy leaves. This particular Giloy-creeper grew on our family’s generation-old Neem tree, this ensures that the plant gets the added benefits of Neem as well. The brew is a heady blend of NeemGiloy, Parijat leaves, and Shyama Tulsi. All the ingredients are organically grown at our farm in Delhi. Satmya’s NeemGiloy Brew will help to boost immunity, tackle stress, and aid in developing a robust lifestyle. A powerhouse of Antioxidants, it is an Immunomodulator herb known for its Antipyretic (reduces fever), Analgesic (relieves pain), Anti Inflammatory (reduces swelling) and, Cardioprotective Blood Purifying properties. ShyamaTulsi (purple basil) is loaded with Vitamins, Antioxidants, and Antiviral properties. It helps with blood clotting and aids in bone strength. This variant has the maximum medicinal benefits out of all the Tulsi’s and provides an immune system boost, combats ageing and skin ailments. Parijat (harsingar) leaves are an excellent source of Anti Bacterial, Anthelmintic, and Anti Inflammatory supplement. It is known to be excellent for relieving cough and bronchial infections. In the indian mythology it is considered to be a “tree of the universe or heavenly tree” with night blooming flowers. Our Ganga Jamuna Kadha is loaded full with the goodness of fourteen adaptogenic Herbs and Spices. This rich and harmonious blend is carefully selected to help strengthen and boost your immunity. A winter drink-sure to make you feel warm and fuzzy. It helps in relieving cold and cough symptoms and help keep seasonal infections at bay. For a perfect brew, bring 150ml water to boil. Add 1 tsp (3g) of our Sātmya Ganga Jamuna Kadha, cover with a lid, and allow to brew for 2-3 minutes. Filter and drink warm. Sweeten with honey/jaggery or add a lemon wedge (optional). Take 2-3 times daily. We Recommend : Add 1 tsp of Kadha to milk while making your regular cup of tea for a flavourful cup of chai! Ganga Jamuna Kadha This brew is a rich and harmonious blend of Holy Basil (Tulsi), Brahmi, Star Anise, Dry Ginger, Black Pepper, Nutmeg (Jaifal), Arjuna Bark, Liquorice (Mulethi), Cinnamon, Cardamom, Fennel seeds, Bay Leaf, Banafsha, Black Cardamom. Holy Basil - Tulsi is rich in Vitamin C and zinc. It functions as a natural immunity booster and keeps infections at bay. Brahmi - Helps improve both short term and long term memory. Star Anise - Consuming star anise after meals help improve digestion, alleviate cramps, and reduce nausea. Dry Ginger - Consuming ginger-based concoctions on an empty stomach could keep away many diseases and strengthen the immune system. Black Pepper - It contains a chemical called piperine, this helps to reduce pain, improve breathing, and reduce inflammation. Nutmeg (Jaifal) - Nutmeg’s sweet and fragrant flavours make it a popular additive to most cough medicines and cold vapour rubs. Fennel seeds - They reduce inflammation and may help soothe swelling or irritation in the intestines and improve digestion Bay Leaf - It contains enzymes that help to breakdown proteins Banafsha - Sweet Violet as it is often called, helps improve overall Bronchial functioning Ashwagandha ( Indian Ginseng ) is a classic adaptogen, when taken at night, helps you relax and get a good night’s sleep. Sātmya Fermented Ashwagandha Brew is soaked in cow’s milk, which allows the properties to supercharge. For a perfect brew bring 150 ml Water to boil. Add 1 tsp (3g) of the Ashwagandha brew, cover with a lid, and allow to brew for 1-2 minutes for extraction. Strain and add natural sweetener as per taste. Drink warm. Brew 2 : Add milk for a yummylicious tea! Our Recommendation: Brew 3 : For a nighttime latte, boil 1 tsp with milk to drink for a good night’s sleep. Fermented Ashwagandha Brew Often called the “King of Ayurvedic Herbs”, Ashwagandha helps to increase brain functions and helps fight symptoms of anxiety and depression. Our Sātmya Arjuna Heart Elixir is a powerful tonic packed full of Antioxidant, Antiinflammatory, Antimicrobial, and Antihypertensive properties. It helps at controlling blood cholesterol, LDL, and Triglycerides and may reduce cortisol levels (stress hormone). For a perfect brew add 1 tsp (3g) in 100 ml water and cover with a lid, and bring to boil. Add 150 ml milk and slow boil till the mixture reduces to half. Strain and add natural sweetener as per taste. Drink warm. Tip : Add 1 tsp while making your regular cup of tea. For maximum benefits, take half an hour after breakfast and avoid eating for one hour after taking. Arjuna Heart Elixir Our Heart Elixir contains the goodness of our Dried Arjun Bark and Dried Ginger along with a mix of Cinnamon, Cardamom, and Fennel Seeds. Our hero ingredient- Arjuna Chaal is the red coloured dried bark of the tree. It contains cardiac glycosides that strengthen the cardiac muscles and enhance the ability of the heart to pump blood.
