Working Time Regulations London Underground Limited has a duty of care to ensure that the health and safety of all staff and customers is maintained at all times. As such we adhere strictly to the Working Time Regulations (“the Regulations”) in respect of daily and weekly rest periods, and expect our all our employees to ensure that they comply with the Regulations, including as set out below Regulation 10(1) states that a worker is entitled to a rest period of not less than 11 hours in each 24 hour period. Regulation 11(1) states that a worker is entitled to a rest period of not less than 24 hours in each 7 day period. This can be achieved as outlined below: Regulation 11 (2) states that a worker is entitled to EITHER: 2 uninterrupted rest periods of not less than 24 hours in each 14 day period OR 1 uninterrupted rest period of not less than 48 hours in each 14 day period Should you choose to undertake employment outside of your contract with London Underground Limited you must ensure that you comply with the Working Time Regulations as stated above. In addition, London Underground requires that, in line with Regulation 4, our employees do not work more than 48 hours in any week. You will be expected to ensure that you do not work more than 48 hours in any week, taking into account both your London Underground work and any other paid work you may carry out. Should you have an existing part-time or full time-position outside of your contract of employment with Transport for London, you must inform your line manager of your intentions, including the nature of the role and the hours you wish to work, and obtain their written permission in advance. You must also keep them updated throughout your employment should there be any change in the details of your outside employment.
