Job Title: Director of Fundraising (US) Organization: SISCODE GHANA Location: Remote (USA) Job type: Volunteering SISCODE GHANA is seeking a dedicated and passionate Director of Fundraising (US) to join our team. Our organization is at the forefront of championing IT literacy in Africa, with a special focus on equipping women with the necessary skills to pursue STEM-related careers. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, we are committed to securely positioning ourselves to promote IT and Coding among children in Ghana and Africa, empowering them to become leaders of change in their communities. As the Director of Fundraising, you will play a pivotal role in leading the development and implementation of fundraising strategies to support our mission and goals. Your responsibilities will include cultivating relationships with individual donors, major donors, foundations, corporations, and other funding sources. You will oversee all aspects of fundraising, including major gifts, grants, planned giving, special events, and corporate partnerships in the United States. Responsibilities: - Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising plan that aligns with the organization's mission and goals. - Identify and cultivate relationships with diverse funding sources, including individual donors, major donors, foundations, and corporations. - Manage our foreign donor database, ensuring accurate and timely gift processing and acknowledgement. - Oversee grant applications and reporting, ensuring compliance with funder requirements. - Develop and manage a budget for fundraising activities, ensuring fundraising goals are met. - Plan and execute engaging special events to increase fundraising revenue and donor engagement. - Foster strong relationships with board members, volunteers, and stakeholders to support fundraising efforts. - Provide leadership and direction to the fundraising team, setting goals, managing performance, and providing professional development opportunities. - Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and communications, to ensure alignment and integration of fundraising activities. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in a related field, with at least 3 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, preferably in a leadership role. - Proven track record of success in fundraising, including major gifts, grants, and special events. - Strong understanding of fundraising best practices and trends, with the ability to adapt strategies as needed. - Experience managing a team of fundraising professionals and cultivating a culture of philanthropy within an organization. - Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, utilizing data to inform decision-making. - Proficiency in fundraising software and donor databases. - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously. - Commitment to the organization's mission and values.
