Collect petals/drawings in a special bowl or jar for the child to keep. 4. Close with a gentle blessing: "Today we celebrate [Name] and all the magic within them. May the year ahead bring love, laughter, and little moments of wonder in every day." Happy Birthday!" (Personally I present the cake here – everyone signing happy birthday now at the beginning. The cake can then be sliced ready to enjoy after the food or during one of the pamper rituals...we like to have it during the foot spa!!!) Optional : play gentle music or nature sounds, sprinkle petals, or light a small candle safely. Purpose : Kick off hands-on creativity and honour the child with a wearable crown of nature. How to: If you have access to a garden, woods, or green space, this activity is a wonderful, grounding way for children to connect with nature and their own creativity. Step 2: Flower Crown Making If not, don’t worry - you can adapt the ritual to suit your space and still create something magical. Option 1: Foraged Flower Crowns Invite the children to forage for nature treasures - flowers, feathers, leaves, twigs, and grasses. Encourage them to: Pick only what is plentiful and safe Choose blooms already fallen where possible Leave roots and bulbs in the ground Gently ask permission from the plant first (a lovely ritual in itself!) Teach them what’s OK to pick and what’s best admired in place. This becomes a moment of quiet respect and gentle learning. Then, using floral wire, string, or ribbon, help the children weave their treasures into a wild crown, or stick them onto the kraft crown included. You could even show them how to make natural glue using cornflower as an additional activity! Crowns can be worn for the rest of the spa activities – the perfect symbol of magic and celebration! Tip: Add small LED lights, dried flowers, or pressed petals for extra enchantment. Option 2: Colour & Create Crown No green space? No problem! Use the included Kraft crown (or draw your own on card) and let the children decorate it with coloured pencils, stickers, pressed petals, or drawings of their dream crown. Share the Magic & Win! Take photos or videos to enter the Flower Crown Competition. (See our Competition section for full details) Purpose: Begin the spa rituals with relaxation and gentle sensory play.
