[1] TOURISM IN CHILE • STATISTICAL PROFILE Data: 2024; updated with available 2025 indicators 3 Who travels to Chile? Geographic proximity is decisive: Argentina, Brazil and Bolivia together accounted for 63.8% of international arrivals in 2024. [2] Market concentration Argentina was the largest inbound market at 39.9%, followed by Brazil (15.0%) and Bolivia (8.9%). This provides scale and easy overland access, but also leaves flows sensitive to exchange rates, prices and economic cycles in neighbouring countries. Implication: diversification into long-haul markets and stronger air connectivity are important for sustainable growth. DOMESTIC TOURISM INTERNATIONAL TOURISM 61.6 million overnight trips in 2024 - an all-time high and 1.7% above 2023. [2] 5.239 million international arrivals in 2024 - rapid growth, but a smaller absolute volume than domestic demand. [1][2] What the figures mean • Domestic demand provides a more stable base for year-round employment and regional distribution. • International demand is growing faster and supports service-export revenue. • Seasonality, climate risks and concentration in a few source markets remain key management issues.
