It has been an incredibly busy summer at Notts County Women. With Covid-19 stopping our season in it's tracks, it has given us all some time to reflect on the incredible steps we have made as a club over the last two seasons and look ahead to the future. The first announcement came as the club entered into a partnership with Basford United. This enables us to call Greenwich Avenue our home for training and match- days across the entire club, from u9's to the First Team. We have also been busy with player recruitment to strengthen the senior section at the club as well as welcoming new staff member, Tom Hodges into the role of Development Manager. We are delighted with our transfer business, having moved early to secure our targets, it has allowed the new players to build into the squad over pre-season. In what was a unique time for everyone, with 5 months without football, today is a testament to the hard work that has gone on behind the scenes, from everyone at the club, to bring about a safe return of football. I hope you all enjoy the game today and make our new ground feel like home! We have missed football and the crowd and we can't wait to start the new campaign! As always thank you for your continued support! #COYP ADunleavy Adam Dunleavy Manager 2 PARTNERS The amazing work that we do across our senior section would not be possible without the support of our partners. Thank you so much to everyone who has joined the NCFC Women's family for the 2020/21 season. Our sponsors, The Woodthorpe Hospital, have been on the front line of the national response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Throughout the crisis, The Woodthorpe have been providing support, facilities and equipment to the NHS in a collaborative effort to tackle Coronavirus. We are incredibly proud of all the staff at the Woodthrope Hospital and wish to place on record our thanks to them and all the NHS & Key-Workers who have put service before self during this unprecedented time. Through both the financial support but also access to world leading diagnostics for our injured players, our partnership continues to grow. Keep a look out for future links and campaigns between us and our partners. 3 THEOPPOSITION LINCOLN UNITED WOMEN THE LOWDOWN Lincoln United are the result of a re-branding of Hykeham Town Women of last season. The club made the move after the 19/20 season was declared null & void, sitting top of D1 North with 10 wins from 10. Lincoln have strengthened over the summer with ambitions set firmly on promotion to the Premier Division. MANAGER'S THOUGHTS Manager Chris Funnell of the Whites had this to say about the move from Hykeham, which saw him and his backroom team join the Whites for the 20/21 campaign. "The name change has presented us with a fantastic opportunity to keep progressing. The club's infrastructure, facilities and stature locally will really give us a foothold to drive forward with our development and aim of progressing up the women's league pyramid. The game was a great opportunity for the staff to get to know the new players and ease everyone back - : - into the match day environment. It was also a great chance for both teams to have a look at our new home at Greenwich Avenue. The Magpies kicked off pre-season with an away tie at Sleaford Town. A promising performance and dominant display gave new 8 : 1 recruits their first minutes in the black & white. New signing Mollie Crump stood out, netting a goal and an assist from the wing. Kettering served up the first taste of higher league opposition for Notts in a game that saw the Magpies run out 6-1 victors. Some promising performances from both returning players and the off- 6 : 1 season signings will have given both Adam Dunleavy & Adam Woolley confidence in their newly assembled squad. Northampton Town dashed hopes of a perfect pre-season with a 2-0 win over Notts in their final pre-season outing. Two first half 0 : 2 goals left The Magpies with too much to do despite a dominant second half. The game proved to be a good test for Notts against higher league opposition ahead of today's FA Cup tie. 5 FA CUP REWIND 18 August 2019 NOTTS COUNTY 11 Chambers 1', Reed 4', 36', 50' Linsley 6', 12', Munn 64', Brooks 70', Hooley 78', 88', 89' Cleethorpes Town 1 Notts started last year's Women's The Magpies came out for the LINE UPS FA Cup in style against newly second half on the offensive, with promoted Cleethorpes Town.
