It has been an incredibly busy summer at Notts County Women. With Covid-19 stopping our season in it's tracks, it has given us all some time to reflect on the incredible steps we have made as a club over the last two seasons and look ahead to the future. The first announcement came as the club entered into a partnership with Basford United. This enables us to call Greenwich Avenue our home for training and match- days across the entire club, from u9's to the First Team. We have also been busy with player recruitment to strengthen the senior section at the club as well as welcoming new staff member, Tom Hodges into the role of Development Manager. We are delighted with our transfer business, having moved early to secure our targets, it has allowed the new players to build into the squad over pre-season. In what was a unique time for everyone, with 5 months without football, today is a testament to the hard work that has gone on behind the scenes, from everyone at the club, to bring about a safe return of football. I hope you all enjoy the game today and make our new ground feel like home! We have missed football and the crowd and we can't wait to start the new campaign! As always thank you for your continued support! #COYP Adam Dunleavy Manager Adam Dunleavy Manager's Notes ADunleavy 2 Our sponsors, The Woodthorpe Hospital , have been on the front line of the national response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Throughout the crisis, The Woodthorpe have been providing support, facilities and equipment to the NHS in a collaborative effort to tackle Coronavirus. We are incredibly proud of all the staff at the Woodthrope Hospital and wish to place on record our thanks to them and all the NHS & Key-Workers who have put service before self during this unprecedented time. Through both the financial support but also access to world leading diagnostics for our injured players, our partnership continues to grow. Keep a look out for future links and campaigns between us and our partners. P A R T N E R S The amazing work that we do across our senior section would not be possible without the support of our partners . Thank you so much to everyone who has joined the NCFC Women's family for the 2020/21 season. 3 THE LOWDOWN Lincoln United are the result of a re-branding of Hykeham Town Women of last season. The club made the move after the 19/20 season was declared null & void, sitting top of D1 North with 10 wins from 10. Lincoln have strengthened over the summer with ambitions set firmly on promotion to the Premier Division. Manager: Chris Funnell Captain: Kirsty Dalzell Top Scorer 19/20: Lauren Churcher (14) Nickname: The Whites Last Game: 4-1 (W) vs King's Lynn MANAGER'S THOUGHTS Manager Chris Funnell of the Whites had this to say about the move from Hykeham, which saw him and his backroom team join the Whites for the 20/21 campaign. "The name change has presented us with a fantastic opportunity to keep progressing. In what was to be an FA Cup record, Nya Chambers opened the scoring after just 47 seconds to give Notts the lead and with it, the fastest goal scored in the history of the competition. Just three minutes later Bella Reed pounced onto a perfectly weighted through ball to claim the first goal of her hat-trick. Notts went into the break 5-1 to the good with Linsley hitting two debut goals and Reed slotting home for her second of the afternoon after Cleethorpes Town pulled one back through a well struck free-kick from the edge of the box in the 27th minute. Reed NOTTS COUNTY C l e e t h o r p e s T o w n The Magpies came out for the second half on the offensive, with Reed completing her hat trick in the 50th minute before being replaced by Jess Munn. The striker wasted no time in opening her Notts County account, dancing past two defenders and cutting into the 18 yard box to smash the ball past the keeper. Fellow substitute Sami Brooks got in on the act with a goal in the 70th minute before a Chelsie Hooley masterclass saw the midfield magician score a 10 minute Hat-Trick in what was another club record. Notts will be hoping for a repeat in booking passage to the next round whilst Lincoln United are looking to make history with a win on their debut in the Women's FA Cup. Mollie's experience at Barnsley and Sheffield United will provide a boost to the squad after relocating to Nottingham for University. Versatile and accomplished with both feet, Crump can play on either side of the pitch. Athletic and with a strong turn of pace, expect to see Mollie getting up the pitch to join the attack as well as taking care of her defensive responsibilities. Mollie will wear the number 3 shirt this season and is in contention to make her competitive debut for Notts in today's FA Cup Clash against Lincoln. "We are delighted to be able to bring Mollie to Greenwich Avenue. She has a fantastic football education having played at a high level from a young age and has already made a great impact on the squad. Mollie brings so much to the side both defensively, able to secure possession and play out but also on the attack. Mol can deliver a ball and beat a player and also knows where the goal is. It's a great sign of the continued progress on and off the pitch that we are attracting players of Mollie's quality to the club. We are excited to see Mollie in action this year" A R R I V A L S MOLLIE CRUMP POSITION WING BACK / WINGER 9 SIGNED FROM BARNSLEY FC WOMEN NICKNAME MOL BACKGROUND MANAGER'S COMMENTS The girls and staff are so welcoming and passionate to win, which makes it such a great environment to play in!
