THE REv. C. O. A. DARBY, O.B.E.(Mil.}, R.N. (Rtd.) Provincial Grand Chaplain at the Westwood Masonic Centre, Bellegrove Road, Welling, Kent on Tuesday, 22nd January, 1980 1. W.M. (gavels) says:- Brethren, the New Lodge Banner is without, let us receive it into our Temple with due ceremonial=-W, Bra. Director of Ceremonies. 2. The Founders and the Past Masters of and in the Lodge retire from the Lodge under the direction of the D.C. 3. The W.M. announces the Hymn and the Procession enters. o God, our help in ages past, Our hope for years to come, Our shelter from the stormy blast, And our eternal home. A Thousand Ages in Thy sight, Are like an evening gone. Short as the watch that ends the night, Before the rising sun. o God, our help in ages past, Our hope for years to come, Be Thou our guide while troubles last, And our eternal home. 4. During the Hymn the Veiled Banner is carried forward to the W.M.'s Pedestal and the Escort forms up on each side of it all facing East. 5. When the Hymn is ended the Director of Ceremonies asks the W.M. to receive the Banner on behalf of the Brethren. The W.M. replies" I accept it with great pleasure and call upon the Chaplain to give the opening prayer." W.M. requests the Banner to be placed in position. THE UNVEILING OF THE BANNER 6. The Worshipful Master requests the Right Worshipful Provin- cial Grand Master, the Rev. Canon Peter Churton Collins, B.D. to unveil the Banner. (Prov.D.e.-To order Brethren) The Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master unveils the Banner and calls upon the Provincial Grand Chaplain for the Dedication Prayer. (Prov.D C.-To order Brethren for the Dedication Prayer) THE DEDICATION OF THE BANNER 7. The Provincial Grand Chaplain delivers the Dedication Prayer. 8. Provincial D.C.-Brethren resume your seats. 9. The Provincial Grand Chaplain delivers an Oration. 10. The W.M. announces the Hymn. Now thank we all our God, With heart, and hands, and voices, Who wondrous things hath done, In whom His world rejoices; Who, from our mother's arms, Hath blessed us on our way With countless gifts of love, And still is ours today. o may this bounteous God Through all our life be near us, With ever-joyful hearts And blessed peace to cheer us, And keep us in 'His grace, And guide us when perplexed, And free us from all ills In this world and the next. 11. The Provincial D.e. calls the Brethren to order for the Pat- riarchal Benediction. 12. The Provincial Grand Chaplain gives the Patriarchal Bene- diction.
