However, it wasn’t until I brought home Jill, my beautiful Great Dane, that I decided that dog training was something I’d need to learn. I knew it was going to be necessary that she was trained from the beginning of her “puppyhood” for both my family and Jill to have a great life together. After much research and studying the differences between positive-only and balanced training methods, I decided to train with and learn the training techniques of world-renowned trainers Sean O’Shea and Jeff Gellman at their training center in Chattsworth, California. While many trainers promote a “positive-only” training method, I believe, along with Sean and Jeff, that a Balanced Training method is the best way to strengthen the bond between dog and owner.
