Raksha Bandhan 2026 A Celebration of Protection, Love & Seva Raksha Bandhan, celebrated this year on 28 August 2026 , is more than just a festival of tying rakhi. It is a beautiful reminder of the promise of protection, care, and lifelong support. On this sacred day, sisters tie a sacred thread on their brothers’ wrists, and brothers pledge to protect them always. But the spirit of Raksha Bandhan goes far beyond blood relations. True “raksha” also means standing by those who need protection the most — the poor, the differently-abled, and the underprivileged. Organizations like Narayan Seva Sansthan have been living this spirit of protection for over four decades. Through free corrective surgeries, artificial limbs, wheelchairs, education, and livelihood support, they help thousands of differently-abled individuals stand on their own feet with dignity. This Raksha Bandhan, while celebrating the bond with our siblings, let us also extend the same feeling of care and protection to those who need it most. A small act of seva or donation can become someone’s lifelong “raksha”. Celebrate Raksha Bandhan not only with love at home, but also with compassion in society.
