I thought I would get over it in a couple days, but by day 5 I was in Urgent Care for a double case of “the flu” (never actually tested) and strep throat (confirmed). I spent 9 days in bed tossing and turning, with hefty fevers that drenched my clothes, towels, and my bedsheets. Fits of coughing and gagging, eventually vomiting. If I was shitting, it was diarrhea. I had no appetite and couldn’t eat; turned out I didn’t have any stomach culture left so I had to take probiotics to bring my appetite back. I went to Urgent Care twice because I was allergic to my strep AB. I was weak after that for 2 whole weeks. I’m starting to wonder if all that could be related to this virus. My wife and two sons got a NASTY "flu" it hit them hard we even had to take my two sons (8yo and 5yo) to the hospital because even tylenol didnt relieve the fever at one point. It was weird because my wife usually doesnt get sick and when she does she doesnt complain about it too much she normally goes on about her business and recovers fast. But this season the "flu" dropped her too for a couple days. I was somehow immune to it and showed no symptoms( which was also wierd I'm usually the one that gets floored every season by a flu) Also, in around 2006/2007 or maybe 2008...I got a "flu" that nearly killed me I was young and dumb and didnt goto the hospital even tho I felt I was literally dying it lasted about a month. I think back how stupid that I didnt go to the doctor I could of died from that.
