LiftPD 2522 Hermitage Road, Suite D Richmond, VA 23220 Dear Potential Parkinson’s Program Supporter, Allow us to introduce ourselves to you as LiftPD , a newly formed non - profit organization based in Richmond, VA. We help families living with Parkinson’s disease by providing free disease - specific exercise classes and events LiftPD originated as a concept between Robert (“Bobby”) Hand , physical therapist and Parkinson’s specialist provider , and Jake Rowell , owner of RVA Performance Trainin g. W e have utilized our unique backgrounds in our industries to produce a superior product for people living with Parkinson’s disease Our team received a prestigious Parkinson’s Foundation Community Grant Award in 2020 and again in 2022 This seed funding allowed for the program to remain free of charge to all participants while we were developing our procedures and processes , adding class es , and increasing our visibility within the community Our initial evaluations are done in a 1:1 capacity betwe en a prospective athlete and one of our LiftPD coaches . These evaluations and our group exercise classes will always be free of charge for participants We dedicate our entire operating budget to financing coaching and overhead costs associated with a community - exercise program. While grant funding has been instrumental, we need your help to continue our current offerings and expand our services . It is our mission to always provide high quality coaching and exercise programming. As we recruit more athle tes with Parkinson’s disease, we hope to increase our class frequency , increase opportunities for families and carepartners – as we do at our combined Saturday morning class , and continue to add coaching staff . It is imperative that we maintain a n appropri ate coach to athlete ratio to maximize the benefit of participating at LiftPD. Our athletes receive individualized attention from multiple coaches within each class, as well as local healthcare professionals and student volunteers. We appreciate any amou nt donated to this program. While we aim to grow such that we offer classes daily and even reach out into other communities, this would take our operating cost s well beyond our current capacity.
