1 LEADING TEAMS THROUGH TRANSFORMATION Prof. Guido Gianasso | 19 - 20 June, Tbilisi This course is delivered by top faculty who teach in the world’s leading Executive MBA programs, including TRIUM (#1 EMBA globally, QS Rankings) and HEC Paris (#2 EMBA globally, QS Rankings). From now on, this program will be offered in an enhanced format designed to deliver greater impact and practical value for participants. The program will be delivered in a new format designed to generate stronger results. A key feature of this enhanced approach is the integration of a digital capsule, where powerful guest speaker will share her insights and actively engage participants in solving a real - world business case. This hands - on component reinforces the program’s focus on applying strategic leadership and change management concepts to real organizational challenges. 1. OVERVIEW The global economy presents many opportunities and challenges for organizations and their leaders. In this increasingly VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous) world, business leaders need to develop a repertoire of new strategic leadership capabilities to lead transformation and attract, motivate, and develop an increasingly diverse workforce. This program is built on two important “pillars”. First, in order to survive and thrive in this ever - changing environment, managers need to know themselves, their strengths and weaknesses as leaders. They also need to understand how the very definition of leadership has changed and the connection between their own personality, culture and leadership style. Second, this module will equip participants with a better understanding of change management so that they can adjust to, lead, and implement change more effectively at their workplace. 2. OUTCOMES After completion of this course, participants are expected: 1) To consolidate their understanding of their own personality and leadership style 2) To gain a clear understanding of what drives behavioral change in organizations and acquire and develop leadership behaviors and competencies in managing and supporting organizational change, including restructuring and lay - offs. 3) To enhance their repertoire of strategic leadership capabilities, e.g., team development, communication, negotiation, and change skills 2 3. MODULE STRUCTURE The module will use a variety of different approaches: • Plenary session lectures, presenting and discussing the main conceptual and practical approaches to developing and growing leadership competencies • Practical exercises and group work will invite participants to appropriate and discuss critical competencies. • Individual work on the participant’s organizational and personal challenges will then be translated into goal setting and the personal steps in leadership to be taken moving forward. 4. PREPARATION AND SELF - ASSESSMENT Prior to the start of the course, each participant must complete three psychometric assessments: NEO PI - R ™ is the standard questionnaire measure of the Five Factor Personality Model (FFM) used by many leading business schools. It provides a systematic assessment of emotional, interpersonal, experiential, attitudinal, and motivational styles -- a detailed personality description that can be a valuable resource for a variety of professionals. The NEO PI - R offers a concise measure of the five major domains of personality, as well as the six traits or facets that define each domain. Taken together, the five domain scales and 30 facet scales of the NEO PI - R provide a clear, comprehensive, and detailed assessment of your personality. GOLEMAN AND BOYATZIS LEADERSHIP STYLE QUIZ Good leaders are not born, they are made every day practicing empathy and learning how to inspire people to fulfil their potential. To this end, Daniel Goleman created a leadership style quiz that can help people understand their own style and make improvements. 3 5. TEACHING METHODS We believe that the classroom is a safe environment (a learning community) for experimenting with behavior that may not be comfortable or natural for the participants to exhibit on the job as managers. Our classroom then, is a place to learn, exchange ideas, and gain understanding of the behavioral basis of leadership so that change may be lasting. We will use small group exercises, simulations and readings to illustrate the main point(s) of the material we are covering. Participation in these activities — questions, observations, points of view, asking for behavioral feedback — is important for success in the course and to enhance each participant’s experience. 5.
