Who am I? My name is Emil Friedrich. I’m a fourteen-year-old athlete living in Guernsey, working towards becoming a professional Track & Field athlete, and use publicity to help support charities and organizations in need of funding or other external support. I’m one of the highest-ranking athletes in the UK over a variety of events, with numerous national and regional titles, as well as being ranked on multiple All-Time lists. In terms of publicity, I have fast growing social media accounts over a variety of platforms (some with over 1000 followers), headline newspapers (which I will attach), am featured on many ranking/record lists, as well as other articles featuring my successes. Some of my notable personal bests are: - 800m – 1:57.60 - 200m – 22.76 - 300m – 36.14 About me I was born in Germany, and now reside on Guernsey, a small island in the English Channel. I was born into of athletes, my mother (Ulrike Maisch) being a European Champion and Olympian in the Marathon, my father (Richard Friedrich) competing for Germany internationally and racing at elite-level athletics, and the rest of my family also keenly being involved with the sport. This soon led me to take up athletics myself. At first, I simply enjoyed running. I wasn’t considered particularly talented, but that was soon to change, as I was o Ư ered my first opportunity to compete for my Island in the UK, at the Hampshire County Championships. In said championships, I claimed a gold medal in the 200m. Although now I can consider this championship insignificant, this first glimpse of glory and excitement made me fall in love with the sport. Ever since then, every year has seen continuous improvement at great margins. From being county champion 4 years ago, I now have three national titles to my name. Besides athletics, I: Am a Grade 5 Pianist. A passionate photographer with over 1000 followers (@emilfriedrichphotography on Instagram). Am Multilingual. Passionate conservationist. Computer Science enthusiast/programmer My Athletics Journey In 2022, my father sadly passed away from a rare form of leukemia; something that a Ư ects me to this day. I did not enjoy talking about the experiences that I went through during the months before his passing, as I could not get over the fact that the person I looked up to the most had left. This impacted me massively. During the weeks that passed, I found athletics to be a place and time for me to find peace. I began doing athletics not only for my own interests, but as a coping strategy to express myself and the emotions that I carried. To this day my fathers love for athletics, and his knowledge of my motivation and talent sticks with me through every race and training session, and through every emotional rollercoaster that this sport brings. On other occasions, athletics gives me an outlet, and place of inner peace in which there is nothing but myself; a state of ‘Zen’ so to speak. I began training more frequently after this, at first with the Guernsey Athletics Club, then by myself, and now with my current coach, Dale Garland. My motivation and desire to etch my name into the history book did nothing but grow; and still does to this day. I enjoy the process of bettering myself, documenting and sharing it, and the products that come with this. I now train 1-1 with Mr Garland, a well renowned coach, National, and International Athlete. I can thank him for being where I am today, and all the work (which he does free of charge) for me. My Successes As well as it being a strategy to assist my mental health, in the years to come I would find that I had immense talent and motivation. This led me to have a variety of successes. Here in Guernsey, I have no free access to any implements other than the ones that I own myself and the public track. This is because of the Guernsey Athletics Club not allowing me to use their equipment after I stopped training with them (I am still however, a paying member). This feud between the club and me and Mr Garland has impacted my training and access to funding, leaving me short of any assistance. Travelli ng on or o Ư Guernsey i s extremely expensive, and having to invest in new kit on top of this is simply unsustainable. Support from others could resolve this issue. What I am asking for I am asking for any support that you could grant me as a company. From kit, publicity, or financial aid, I would very gratefully take any help that I could get, as I see that ambassadorship may not be an option (as much as I would love it to be). In return I would be happy to share and talk of this support as publicly as I could, using every source available to me to create any type of awareness that I could do. I can provide publicity through all my social media (which I will provide below), as well as through newspaper articles, other local news outlets and all other platforms available to me. In addition to this, I have great quality filming equipment, to produce high quality marketing videos and posts that stand out, as well as a good understanding of social media algorithms to maximise my reach. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any queries.
