About the position: We are on the hunt for an innovative isiXhosa First Additional Language Teacher for the remainder of 2024 with a fervor for shaping minds and a commitment to academic excellence. The ideal candidate will be a custodian of isiXhosa FAL, eager to instill in students an appreciation for literature and effective communication. This pivotal role is designed for an educator dedicated to a rigorous academic curriculum, adept at integrating technology into learning, and inspiring critical thinking at every opportunity. Key Responsibilities and Requirements: Reporting to the Principal of the High School the candidate will be responsible for the following: 1. Develop and implement detailed lesson plans for Xhosa FAL for Grades 8-10, aligning with the CHSA Learning Design. 2. Integrate technology to enhance curriculum delivery and stimulate interactive learning. 3. Secure quality student performance with a focus on exam and Systemic success, acting on feedback for improvement. 4. Lead extracurricular activities that expand learning opportunities, emphasizing the practical use of language skills. 5. Collaborate with colleagues and the FAL HOD to maintain CHSA Learning Design strategy, curriculum uniformity, exchange teaching materials, and promote collective professional growth. 6. Stay updated with the latest teaching strategies, incorporating innovative approaches and educational resources. The candidates must fulfill the following requirements: 1. A relevant university degree majoring in Xhosa FAL, Education, or related fields, with a focus on secondary education. 2. Appropriate teaching qualifications for Xhosa FAL instruction. 3. Registration with SACE, upholding its professional standards and ethical guidelines. 4. Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE) certification or readiness to undergo training to obtain this qualification within six months of employment commencement. 5. Possession of or commitment to obtain and uphold the Microsoft Expert Educator (MIEE) certification.
