P RTAL 2021 Deadline for entries: 11.59pm, 28 July 2021 Llantarnam Grange is looking for radical new practices to exhibit in the annual graduate showcase, exhibiting brave, political, affirming and dazzling works. What is Portal? Portal is an opportunity for fifteen graduating craftspeople, artists, designers, photographers and makers to take part in the annual exhibition of graduate artists in Llantarnam Grange, Cwmbran, south Wales. What is on offer? Portal is an exhibition opportunity at Llantarnam Grange, and a bespoke coaching programme with dedicated support from professional artists and arts workers, who are there to support emerging practices. Portal is also a wider conversation about your practice and ambitions, with staff and supporting freelancers as a sounding board and network for a healthy career in the sector, regardless of medium. Exhibiting Artists will receive a fee of £100 for their involvement and the costs of transportation of their work will be covered one way also. P RTAL 2021 Deadline for entries: 11.59pm, 28 July 2021 How much does it cost? Portal is completely free to enter and free to take part in. We will be holding the 1-2-1 coaching sessions online. How do I apply? Artists, Makers and Creatives graduating from any visual or applied arts course (BA, MA or Alternative Art-School [ie, School of the Damned, Syllabus, TOMA, etc]) from a UK university including the Open University in 2021 are invited to apply for Portal 2021, fill in the form before 11.59pm, 28 July 2021 here: https://forms.gle/p4KM2g4AQ3wHkXa3A What’s the process? Entries will be welcomed until 28 July 2021, and will be selected by the panel: Savanna Dumelow, Exhibitions Officer at Llantarnam Grange and two independent, external selectors, to be announced soon. Artists will be notified of a decision no earlier than Friday 13 August 2021, and we will endeavour to offer feedback from the selection panel if requested. P RTAL 2021 Deadline for entries: 11.59pm, 28 July 2021 The exhibition: Portal 2021 will open Saturday 11 September 2021 and run until 6 November 2021. If these dates have to change, we will inform all artists at the earliest opportunity. Llantarnam Grange will cover the transport of selected artwork in one direction, and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis. We ask that all selected artists collect or arrange for their work to be delivered by 13 November 2021. Commitments We will be ring-fencing Six of the fifteen places for artists of colour, graduating from a UK university. Six places will also be ring-fenced for Welsh or Wales-based artists graduating from a UK University, these are not mutually exclusive. We are aware that deadlines can be daunting and difficult to reach for reasons beyond our control.
