(Oakland, Berkeley, Emeryville, Alameda, Albany) CARE PROGRAM FA M ILY RESOURCE NAV I G ATO R S HOW IT STARTED The CARE Program started as a grassroots initiative of Parent Voices Oakland and is implemented by a collaborative group led by BANANAS, First 5 Alameda County, Alameda County Social Services Agency, Family Front Door, ALL IN, and Alameda County Early Care & Education Program. The BANANAS CARE Program provides child care navigation and support to families who are experiencing homelessness. The Family Resource Navigators work with parents to determine child care options and eligibility and support them in the application and enrollment process to programs that fit their schedule and family need. We’ve experienced great success in getting families connected to child care subsidies when they work with our Family Resource Navigators.
