BrawlStock The proof and the suspicion Context BrawlStock, known as @BrawlStock on Twitter, is a seller of Brawlhalla related items, such as codes for various in-game items and a boosting service: a service which carries players to a rank they can’t reach themselves, by logging in to their account and playing for them. Their Twitter account was made in November of 2018, and started as a GFX seller, with the name @Vexxygfx. Back then they basically only tweeted the same response to people asking for graphic design. Around January some drama started to arise between them and @ilOooDesigns. That was also the time two other accounts were made and instantly joined the side of BrawlStock, those accounts being @talonFNBR and @MordexFN, who now carries the name of @VoltedFN. Mordex had some now deleted posts about selling Brawlhalla items, and BrawlStock responded to every single one of them claiming to have bought Metadevs and that Mordex was a real seller. In February 2019 he was exposed as a scammer by @s_vexy, but that got no attention*. On the 13th of may their first brawlhalla related tweet was made. They have been growing like crazy since. Immediately suspicion arose, as code sellers are almost always scammers. He also has a discord server. *https://twitter.com/s_vexy/status/1092652586744705025 Statement by victim Talksick On the 20th of may I got contacted by @Talksick on Discord, almost immediately after I joined BrawlStock’s server. I immediately asked him what had happened. He then sent me a screenshot of his conversation with BrawlStock. In this screenshot their name is Vex, which is their alt Discord account, named after their old twitter name. (this screenshot is too large for a word document, here’s the link): https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/712680355429220423/712680792102535249/unknown.png After that Talksick was blocked. You might ask yourself why Talksick randomly contacted me: Haemo @HaemoYT went on an alt account and bought a Metadev Asuri for 25 USD. He got scammed. This tweet contains screenshots and explanations: https://twitter.com/haemoYT/status/1267208679377559553 https://twitter.com/haemoYT/status/1267218667231686656 https://twitter.com/haemoYT/status/1267555863696457729 Boosting service A boosting service is a way of getting to a rank you can’t reach yourself by getting carried by a better player. BrawlStock sells them for 20 USD. I asked them how it works: Instead of carrying you in ranked 2v2, you have to give your Steam login to BrawlStock and they will play for you, getting you diamond. That seems so fishy, as there are other ways of getting someone to diamond, namely ranked 2v2. You should never give your account details to someone, especially someone you don’t know and doesn’t have any good reputation. Fake twitter screenshots As a lot of people were suspicious of BrawlStock, they decided to post some screenshots of Discord conversations of them selling Metadev codes to “prove” that they’re real. There is a problem with this screenshot: the Metadev Brynn code. There are two types of codes, Steam codes and Brawlhalla codes. A steam code format looks like this: AAAAA – BBBBB – CCCCC, while a Brawlhalla code format looks like this: AAAAAA – BBBBBB. Metadevs only get given away in Brawlhalla code form. The code is therefore not real. The tweet was deleted as soon as someone pointed it out. Fake statements from buyers There is a text channel in BrawlStock’s Discord server called #Vouch. In here people post about having bought something as “proof” of BrawlStock being a real seller. The first thing you’ll notice is that user Blanko claims to have bought a metadev Asuri, while in the screenshot from BrawlStock he buys a Metadev Brynn. I reckon he’d be way more excited about his Brynn. The second thing is that after these five posts, nothing has been posted here since the may 21th. Thirdly, as you can see user Senpayin claims to have bought a Collectors Pack. BrawlStock announced that he was going to sell them at 13:12 The post from Senpayin was 15 minutes before that. Again, when someone pointed it out, the post from Senpayin was deleted. Unreasonable pricing. This is BrawlStock’s pricing: Metadev Asuri = $25.00 USD Metadev Bödvar = $25.00 USD Metadev Ember = $50.00 USD Metadev Orion = $100.00 USD Metadev Brynn = $50.00 USD CC Codes = $10.00 USD Collectors pack = $50.00 USD Boosting = $20.00 USD You can buy a Collectors pack in the steam store for $99.99 USD. BrawlStock sells them for $50.00 USD. That’s a 50 dollar loss. You can’t make profit from that. The way he sells them is buy login onto your account and buying it for you. Again, you have to give your Steam account details. All of the Metadevs are way too cheap as well. Except for Asuri, all of them aren’t being produced anymore, making them really rare. BrawlStock claims to get them from a developer, but that’s impossible, as they don’t get produced and given away anymore. Alt accounts As said before, the account @VoltedFN was made when BrawlStock was in an online fight. That made me think he is an alt account of BrawlStock. There are a couple more things that made me come to that conclusion: 1. Volted made the BrawlStock Discord server, even the invite link on BrawlStock’s twitter was made by Volted. 2. Volted is the owner of the Discord server, proven by him sending the first message. 3. His Brawlhalla account name is Vex, which is also the name BrawlStock uses. It is important to know if Volted is BrawlStock, as Volted isn’t diamond so he can’t boost you to diamond. Also, Volted has been selling Server roles in the Discord server, which is a scam as well. BrawlStock only joined the Discord server around the time when they were doing the Dr.Gud Times giveaway. Conclusion There are so many fake Twitter, I don’t even think I’ve ever seen a real one. To me it’s clear that this is no different. People like this know what they’re doing, but they just don’t care. BrawlStock makes money off of other people’s believe in him being a good person, and it should stop right now. This is not what Brawlhalla codes are meant for. I’m sure more people like this will come, but we should never let this happen. The community is only as good as we make it. @Catfoodinator Special thanks to everyone who helped collect proof and raise attention.
