M4F - YOUR PERSPECTIVE Written by: Revytanian July 13 - 27, 2026 , A membership-special - FREE VERSION 2 You, Miyara Soleme, are known for being competitive, and you would do anything just to stay on top of the leaderboard in the Mathematics club. That includes spending almost 5 hours in the library, staying up past midnight and solving equations at lunch. Of course, every goal comes with every problem. There, is where Hezek Harper comes in. Notorious for his dirty play, and lack of sportsmanship in basically every aspect of life. He is as competitive as you, but weirdly not at the same time, like he is doing all these for the love of the game, and pissing you off. After all, he doesn’t look like the stereotype. He is heavily more athletic than smart, he most definitely doesn't wear glasses, and he seems carefree about academics. Though, that’s not what you should worry about right now. The breeze is cold from the outside as it blows past through the window, the only sound in the room is the chalk running against the blackboard and the murmuring of your fellow club members. Reena, the club president stands tall, facing you and the others with the usual strict expression across her soft, feminine features. “I am here to announce that there are two members who are qualified to enter the country’s national mathematics contest.” She spoke, clear and on-point. Gasps and murmuring filled the room completely, the noises quickly annoyed her—evident by her head tilt and furrowed eyebrows, though she composed herself. “I will be revealing who they are before I distribute the papers to all of you needed to fill up to renew as a member in this club.” Compared to your peers, you stayed seated, quiet—too busy anticipating, and also self-assuring that you are 99% that member. Otherwise, you would spend an entire night crying instead of studying. “Hey, Miya.” A woman’s murmur next to you. You knew it’s Aloja just from the giggly tone. “What?” You asked, turning your head to your side, seeing her elegantly dressed form. Long blonde hair, fuzzy scarf and a dress—with a personality far from her status. A reckless, not-so-nonchalant one. “I heard you’re going in the competition with someone... Interesting.” Aloja chuckled lightly, a mischievous grin on her face. Her eyes lit up. “Take a gueeeee-” Her voice was interrupted by the loud opening of the door, banging across the room like a gunshot. You turn your head, and there stands a 5 '10 ft of a man, his outfit screaming “I don’t care.” His dark brown hair is styled on a crownrow that complements his rich brown complexion, and contrasts the light vitiligo patches vitiligo on his skin. When your eyes landed on his face, you noticed his facial structure. Straight, thick eyebrows, eyes that always seem like he’s sleepy, and that nubian nose which perfects his appearance. Lastly, his lips—that stupid grin on his lips. You knew immediately that it was Hezek. M4F - YOUR PERSPECTIVE Written by: Revytanian July 13 - 27, 2026 , A membership-special - FREE VERSION 3 He entered the room, carelessly laid his bag down on a chair in front of you and sat, paying no attention to his position as his legs spread wide. He shot a glance at you with a teasing smirk, knowing exactly how much that smile pissed you off. “Surprised to see you here, I thought Zian locked you up on the 2nd floor.” You snorted by the mention of Zian, and how he basically locked you in the storage room. You remembered that you only managed to leave the room after screaming your lungs out, and that embarrassing reminder became the reason you couldn’t hide your irritation—your blood was already boiling. “Get lost.” The words slip out from your mouth before you could even stop it. “Wait! You got locked up?” Aloja murmured, as if embarrassed for you. “Yeah, she was screamin’ like a goat. Too bad you weren’t there.” He grinned. “It was dark in that room, too.” “You got locked up with her?!” Aloja chuckled, knowing damn well it’s a stupid question. “With Miss Four Eyes?! Hell no.” He scoffed, arms crossed. “I wouldn’t even dare get in the same *ss room with her in a lifetime.” “Whatever.” You responded. You acted like you were unaffected by the nickname he gave you, your face cold as ever, though you couldn’t help but remove your glasses. He, in response, raised an eyebrow. “You look better with that thing off.” Aloja giggled as she jabbed her elbow to your rib lightly with her eyebrows flashing. You rolled your eyes, leg over the other. You avoided Hezek’s eye contact, looking at the president—who is currently standing just a few feet away from Hezek. He noticed your fixated stare just a few feet above his head, and so he turned around, seeing the president’s angry towering form. “You’re late.” Reena coldly stated, her foot tapping against the floor, almost the same pace as the clock ticking. “I clearly said to be here at 4:30 PM.” Hezek let out a mocking chuckle. “Pfft. Who cares? Just get it over with, not like I’m in the list of that stupid competition.” He retorted as he took his phone out, ignoring her completely. Reena did not respond, taking a deep breath before walking back in front of the blackboard. You did not speak, and neither did Aloja, knowing Reena is pissed off. M4F - YOUR PERSPECTIVE Written by: Revytanian July 13 - 27, 2026 , A membership-special - FREE VERSION 4 “Alright! Ehem. Eyes on me!” Boomed Reena as she tried to regain control of the chaotic, constant murmuring and talking of the students. It didn’t take even a split second for them to turn their heads around, looking at Reena. “The two students who got in, is...” Your leg bounces as you fidget with your cardigan shirt. You were confident you’re going to be in that competition, but something else felt wrong, and it sparked your anxiety. Your chest heaving as your breath comes in short. Aloja looked at you, nodding. “Don’t be soooo nervous, Miya.” She muttered, her voice devoid from the usual teasing tone, almost reassuring. “Miyara Soleme.” Reena said with no hesitation. Your peers clapped their hands, smiling at you. Aloja, on the other hand, didn't clap, she grinned and squeaked, raising both hands up as her face beamed. “I TOLD YOU YOU’RE INN!” Aloja basically jumped out of her seat and hollered. The sound of the claps die down, leaving Aloja hollering in the awkward silence. Everyone stared at her, most weirded out. You tugged her dress. “Hey... Sit down, you’re making it awkward.” You murmured, feeling like you’re the one getting embarrassed. Aloja’s smile turned into a frown and covered her mouth, bashful. She sank back down to her chair and giggled to herself. She looked at you. “My bad...~” She whispered. Reena’s eyebrows furrowed as she shook her head, looking back at the others. Hezek turns around to look at you. “Congrats. Being anti-social in the classroom does have its benefits, no? Mayb—” “Hezek Harper.” “WHAT?!” The three of you exclaimed in unison. Aloja’s jaw dropped, while you shake your head frantically. Hezek’s head whipped to Reena’s direction so fast you could’ve sworn you heard his bone snapped. The smug grin displayed on his face disappeared, but crept back when he slowly turned his head to look at you. A low whistle from him. “Well, well, well.” He leaned forward, elbows on his knees, that infuriating smirk now reaching his eyes. “Unfortunately I have to deal with Miss moody tryhard .” M4F - YOUR PERSPECTIVE Written by: Revytanian July 13 - 27, 2026 , A membership-special - FREE VERSION 5 You opened your mouth to fire back, words slipping out again without a second thought. “For your information, I am NOT mood-!” “Was about to say the competition’s going to be easy but the trophy, and you aren’t easy to carry.” Aloja snorted beside you, quickly covering her mouth. Hezek noticed your fuming expression, and his grin widened, leaning away from you—back against the armrest of his chair. “It’s just a joke, princess.” He chuckled. “Wouldn’t want our rivalry getting in the way, eh?” “Tsk. Fine.” You think for a moment. “Guess I should be used to them by now. You’ve been a joke since we met.” Aloja let out a low oooooh under her breath, eyes darting between the two of you like she was watching a tennis match. Hezek's grin tightened at the edges. He tilted his head to the side, crossing his arms, studying you with those sleepy eyes that suddenly looked a little more awake. "Careful, sweet heart. Keep talking like that and I might think you actually like me." Your eyelids flutter. On your face was the expression of surprised, disgusted, disbelief, every emotion to name. “Excuse me?” You spoke. A loud clearing of the throat echoed; it was from Reena. “Ehem. You can talk about this later.” Reena said. “The competition is in 2 days. Right now, it’s Wednesday so the flight is on Friday.” Time passed, meetings and discussions within the club were like background noise as you’re too busy thinking about the possibilities of having to be partnered with Hezek. With the one you hate with your entire heart. But at the same time, you were intrigued. What would happen? Give it one shot , it’s not going to be that bad, right? Out the school halls, the room’s door opened wide as Reena went out of the room, followed by your clubmates. You packed your bag, seeing Aloja running out of the exit door like she’s in a rush, barely able to wave goodbye to you as her hand struggled to lift up with the thousand bags on both of her arms. You left your chair, about to walk to the door when suddenly, a hand grabbed your wrist. M4F - YOUR PERSPECTIVE Written by: Revytanian July 13 - 27, 2026 , A membership-special - FREE VERSION 6 “Where do you think you’re going??” A deep muscular voice echoed in the empty room. You were pushed back on a front row chair, your bag barely doing anything to absorb the impact. You groaned, and there—he traps you in, both arms on either side of you. It was Hezek, and he was standing tall over you, no irritating smile, nothing. Teeth biting hard on the stick of a lollipop on his mouth. “What?” You muttered coldly, an eyebrow raised as you looked at your side. He was different from just a moment ago, his emotions turned like a lightswitch. The grin on his face was nowhere, replaced by the clenching of his jaw and frustrated, narrowed eyes. He was breathing heavily, not even aware of the personal space he values so much. You could smell his perfume this close, the musk and the sweet lollipop his tongue angrily swirl on. “Look, Miyara. I know you HATE me, but I ain’t letting...” He takes a deep breath, eyes shut when he looks away. His tone dropped, hand gripping the armchair tight. “I need- No.” He exhales and looks at you, his expression softening to a tired one. “Just... Unblock me. Let’s talk about this tonight.” He whispered so low the air might’ve blown his words away. It was said in the most... earnest way. You were genuinely confused, head tilted and eyes on him, an eye contact too long as thoughts washed over you. Who am I talking to? Is this Hezek? Does he have a twin? Who is this??? It wasn't a mere second until you broke out of the storm of thoughts by the snapping of his fingers. “Tsk. Enjoying the view?” He scoffed, the soft look on his eyes hardened as he leaned back, no longer crowding your space. “Anyways. Do it right now.” He demanded, his voice far from the murmuring one a moment ago. You clicked your tongue and took out your phone as you aggressively showed him your phone and unblocked his account. As a test, you spammed him with the like emoji. He stared at it for a moment before putting his hand on yours—pushing it away from his face. “Alright that’s enough, mouse.” He said in a tired tone. He looks at you for a moment, as if he was going to say something. “Don’t. You-” He stuttered, fidgeting with the strap of his bag with his head down. You slowly shoved your phone back into your backpack while eyeing him, waiting for a coherent phrase to come out of him. For some reason, you felt something, warmth towards him “Forget about it. Call me tomorrow afternoon.” He enunciated and tilted his head up as he took the lollipop out of his mouth. His usual smirk crept back up. “See you soon.” He said before walking out of the room. You were staggered by the unpredictability of his emotions. M4F - YOUR PERSPECTIVE Written by: Revytanian July 13 - 27, 2026 , A membership-special - FREE VERSION 7 For once, he seemed... Human. No, you have to get him off your mind. That didn’t mean anything. You’re overthinking it. TIMESKIP It is currently Thursday, and it is your rest day. You wake up and first thing in the morning is his chats from last night, the middle of the night to be specific. You grabbed it while your other hand rubbed your eyes and yawned. HEZEK HARPER 12:32 AM. Unsent message. Unsent message. You were confused, but maybe it was just accidentally sent to you. It was weird. The time flew quickly in the morning as you went with your usual morning routine. Cook, eat, workout and shower with the T.V playing loud music in the background. Tick. Tock. And it’s finally afternoon. You are laying on the couch, watching your favorite movie, again for the 5th time. Suddenly, your phone rang. You picked your phone up, and saw a nickname instead of a caller ID. Hezek. You answered it, knowing it is probably about the MATH competition. “Hey.” He spoke. “What?” You responded. “Flight’s tomorrow, no?” “Yes, why?” M4F - YOUR PERSPECTIVE Written by: Revytanian July 13 - 27, 2026 , A membership-special - FREE VERSION 8 “You got the email yet?” “I haven’t checked it.” “We’re flying out at 4 in the damn morning.” Neither of you spoke. 4 am? That is basically hell, and you can’t even trust each other to wake up that early, especially since he quite literally unsent something in the middle of the night. “And the airport is too far away from school.” “Oh come on! Seriously?” “You know what?” “Let’s find a motel close to the airport.” “I can’t trust you with ‘ya schedule.” “Coming from you, eh?” “Did you think I wouldn’t see that you unsent something in the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT?” “I was studying the whole night, aight?” “Wow, guess you’re the nerd now.” “Pfft. It’s not that hard to admit that YOU didn't study.” “It's a rest day, duh!” “Excuses, excuses. Tsk.” “At least find a motel for us, lazy.” “You’re the one who suggested a motel.” “Shouldn’t you be the one to find it?” “Fine. But we’re getting separate rooms.” “I don’t want to see your face.” Before you could even respond, he had already hung up. Just a minute, and you already received a chat from him. A link to g-maps. You want to admit to yourself it was an actually M4F - YOUR PERSPECTIVE Written by: Revytanian July 13 - 27, 2026 , A membership-special - FREE VERSION 9 good motel, a walking distance from the airport. It wasn’t the usual half-assed attempt, but your pride didn’t want to admit it. You went on to pack your bags, clothes, personal hygiene essentials, and tons of books and papers that would probably fry your brain. All of it is in a black suitcase, neatly laid on top of each other. You showered, and finally got ready to go out. You opened an app on your phone, spending time finding the cheapest options between ubers, and just like that—an Uber arrived in front of your house. Suitcase in the trunk of the car, and yourself into the backseat. You stared outside the window, seeing the transition between your hometown to a forest. It was a quiet road, and it almost creeped you out. Your signal wasn’t exactly cooperating right now, and all you had in your bag was books and clothes. Time stretches, your heart beating and your breath held back longer than expected by each cycle. In a car, with a stranger whose expression is deadpan. The uber, clearly unbothered—just switched the radio until it hits the podcast about dogs. You relaxed a little by the fun facts just being thrown to your ears like how dog nose prints are unique like fingerprints, that they can understand 250+ words or gestures, and even the reason why they curl into a cinnamon position. Slowly, the green-y road and forest transitioned to city lights and buildings with loud speakers playing. You opened your phone, and there you finally had a signal. HEZEK HARPER 3:34 PM Hey. Where r u? I've been waiting forever here, Miya. 4:10 PM Are you okay? Reply when you can. Wow, never thought he’s this demanding even in chats. At the same time, he types so weirdly, like it’s a whole different person. The uber parked the car right in front of the entrance. You went out of the car and opened the trunk of the car, grabbing your suitcase. A shadow loomed over you to which you ignored until your suitcase was grabbed. It is Hezek. M4F - YOUR PERSPECTIVE Written by: Revytanian July 13 - 27, 2026 , A membership-special - FREE VERSION 10 Hezek set your suitcase down, the usual mischievous smile painted on his face. “What took ‘ya so long?” He exasperated playfully. “I thought you quit. Would’ve been better." He turns around to walk towards the small motel’s entrance, expecting you to follow. "Tsk. Don’t even start. I’m tired from that 2 hour long drive!” You huff and crossed your arms. You had to endure that awkward, creepy silence in the car—uber’s unusually quiet, staring out the window like you'd personally offended the uber, and now you have to endure Hezek’s relentless talking and teasing. “Oh I’m sorry you didn’t ask me to drive you here. Ms. Independent doesn’t want to admit she wants help." He scoffed. You wanted to fight back, but knew he would continue if you did. As you both walked in the motel the cold air of the air conditioner gave a great relief for the both of you. Letting out a sigh at the same time. You approached the counter, a forced soft smile on your face and wallet at hand as you faced the grumpy old man behind the counter. "2 rooms for one, please! How much will that be?” You asked. "Only 1 room left, kid. Rest’s fully booked." The old man responded in a gruff voice. You glanced back at Hezek whose back is facing you, feet away and currently scrolling through his phone. You wanted to tell him about this problem, but you remembered the g-maps; how the other motels are like kilometers away. Plus, it’s not like it’s going to be that bad to share the room with him. You turned your head to look back at the old man and nodded. With keys in your pockets, you guided Hezek to the room who is currently compliant because of the headphones he is wearing and the music absolutely blasting in his ears. He is fixated on his phone, but not until the door to the room opened as you guided him inside. He put his phone back into his pockets and pulled his headphones to hang on his neck. “So, this is my room?" He asked, deadpan. You chuckled nervously. Seeing him deadpan or serious felt like a personal hell, like you’re about to be eaten by a lion. “ Our room. There was only 1 room left." His eyes shot wide. “What!? Is that why you didn’t ask for my money?!" He exclaimed. "And you didn’t bother telling me??!” You flinched at his loud, angry tone—never expecting him to burst like this over something as trivial as a room. M4F - YOUR PERSPECTIVE Written by: Revytanian July 13 - 27, 2026 , A membership-special - FREE VERSION 11 “It’s not going to be that bad...” You murmured, lacking that usual bite on your tone, not wanting to genuinely piss him off. His expression softened back to a deadpan one as he looked at you up and down, seeing the way you avoided his stare. He just nodded and put his bags down. It wasn’t long until you settled in... And there, he turned around, and froze on the spot. You followed his gaze, and your stomach dropped. A single twin bed. He looked at you, his expression had shifted. The anger was gone, only an infuriating smirk back at its place—something you didn’t expect from him. “You planned this, didn’t you?" He spoke and poked your forehead. He leaned in to your eye level. You shake your head and step back, waving your hand. “Hell no! I swear I didn’t. He literally said it’s one room left, and I didn’t expect it to be one bed. I swear! I swear on Aloja I didn’t do it on purpose! I didn’t even do it.” You rambled, hoping it’d save your ass from whatever situation you are in. You don’t even know what would happen next, not noticing how red your face is getting. He was too close... You almost forgot he’s your rival. He leaned back and pulled away from you, leaving a few distance between you. Your back is still pressed against the wall. “Didn’t expect you to get flustered this easily, mouse.” He mocked and turned away. “It’s fine, just sleep on the floor.” He murmured as he laid down on the bed, pulling a blanket over his body. You blinked twice, the initial embarrassment quickly hardened into an irritation. You crossed your arms and shot back words at him. “Wow. Didn't know the big, bad Hezek Harper was scared to share a bed with ‘miss moody tryhard’.” You ridiculed, the words coming quicker than the thoughts. Why did I say that? What was I thinking? I don’t even want to share a bed with him! M4F - YOUR PERSPECTIVE Written by: Revytanian July 13 - 27, 2026 , A membership-special - FREE VERSION 12 He stilled under the blanket, just staring at you for a moment like you just murdered his family. For a second, you thought you finally won at least once against him. But then... He sat up, slowly and deliberately. The blanket pooled around his waist as he tilted his head to the side. He looked at you, and that smirk? You could’ve sworn it is darker, sharper “Scared?” He tilted his head, voice dropping low. “Nah. I just know...” He swung his legs to stand up, rising from the bed in one fluid motion. “if we're in the same bed, you're the one staying up aaaall night, mouse.” Your brain short-circuited. “What? No-! No no that-” You stammered, eyes darting to your sides. You scratched your nape, flustered. He leaned in so close you could almost smell the perfume on him and the mint on his breath. “Not what, princess ?” He spoke, still the same teasing tone. You were so flustered, so panicky that you just shove him back, hands against his chest. He stumbled and caught himself. It did not take even a moment for him to recover, already standing straight, with his hands up in the air in surrender. Surprise is written all over his face, but when he saw you breathing hard—hand was still suspended in the air with your face burning? He folded under no pressure. He stared at you for a moment. “...Don’t even-” Your words came out softer than expected. His expression softened and took steps back. “Alright, alright...” He nods. He turned back and walked back to the bed while you stayed pressed against the wall, watching his movements. He pulled the blanket over him, turned away from your direction, with head against the headboard. You finally caught your breath, and just when you did... He turned his head over his shoulder, glancing at you with a cheerful grin. It was gentle, teasing but not as cruel. “Offer’s still up anytime, Miya.” He patted the empty side of the bed once, then laid down, back turned to you. Give in to your rival, Or your desire?
