X OGL 230 Meeting Minutes Date: Oct 22, 2020 MINUTES • X • X • X • X • X • X • X • X FINAL SHOWCASE INFO: COM230 Final DB – Group Showcase Post Your group interactions will culminate in a final group discussion board post that will highlight what you learned in this class. One person in your group will post on behalf of the group and include the group’s name at the top of the post. The post will include multiple paragraphs of text and linked documents. See below for specific details. The final post is due on the last day of class and your group should plan to work on this project during each weekly group meeting. The final showcase post is worth 50 points and each person in your group will receive the same grade. Part 1 (a document uploaded with the post) For the first part of the post, your group will create and link a Small Group Best Practices document that you could distribute in your company that would help others prepare for and conduct successful virtual group meetings. An infographic would be ideal here. Page 1 of the document is the list of best practices and page 2 is the reference page. Page 1 Details: • This page should capture the attention of the reader (creative and colorful) and should be easy to understand (simple and graphic). • Some of your best practices should come from research. o At least 3 from different popular press/academic sources o At least 3 from the course textbook o Include citation for each of these o The page should be well-researched • Some of your best practices should come from what your group learned in class. o At least 4 from what you directly experienced and learned o Asterisk these tips Page 2 Details: • The reference page needs to be in APA format. Part 2 (one paragraph and uploaded documents) In part 2 of the final showcase discussion board post, your group will summarize your meeting statistics in 1 paragraph including: • Approximately how many hours did your group meet? Do you think this was enough time to complete the projects successfully? • Did you have 100% attendance at your meetings? If not, give an overview of attendance and how it impacted your group’s progress. • Upload copies of your weekly agendas to the post. Part 3 (two paragraphs) In part 3, your group will summarize your interactions over the semester. You should have 1 paragraph for each discussion board prompt below: • What were your group’s biggest challenges this semester? Why were they challenges? How did your group overcome these challenges? What worked and what did not? • According to the consensus of the group, what was the most important thing your group learned and why was it impactful? Garden Gang Group 1: Thursday 5-7 pm Meeting #2: October 29, 2020 THIS WEEK’s OBJECTIVES: • Discuss “Social Styles” • Identify our group's composition of social styles • Continue our discussions about the group project. • Continue to plan for future meetings. THIS WEEK’s AGENDA: 1. Begin meeting at 5pm AZ time. 2. Present our individual Social Styles. 3. Discuss our group’s composition of Social Styles and identify what may be missing. 4. Wrap up Social Style discussion by discussing how to ensure missing styles can be incorporated into our work 5. Compose group discussion post 6. Present & discuss what we have accomplished so far in our group project (shares sources for part 1 of project) 7. Begin to compile and put together Part 1 of project 8.
