JOB DESCRIPTION POST: Operations Manager RANK: Senior Management REPORTS TO: Directors INTERNAL PROFESSIONAL LIAISONS: Directors, Finance Manager, Human Resource Team Consultant, Unit Supervisors EXTERNAL PROFESSIONAL LIAISONS: Jamaica Customs Agency, Logistics and Operations Business Partners and other Suppliers, as may be required from time to time. JOB SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the Company Directors, the incumbent will be charged with managing all aspects of the company’s operations to include, but not limited to, importation, store and warehouse operations, annual budgeting and budget monitoring, delivery logistics, employee. REQUIRED EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Operations, Management Studies, Business Administration, Project Management or related field. OR Bachelor’s Degree in Operations, Management Studies, Business Administration, Project Management or related field with minimum three-five (3-5) years’ experience. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Minimum three-five (3-5) years’ experience at a supervisory or management level in Operations/Project Management or related field. 1 KEY COMPETENCES: ▪ Excellent written and oral communication skills. ▪ Keen attention to detail. ▪ Strong planning and project management skills. ▪ Strong negotiation skills. ▪ Ability to work well with minimum supervision. ▪ Ability to manage large multi skill teams. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: § Manage and direct store, warehouse and importation teams to achieve key business targets. § Assist in developing or updating standard operating procedures for all business operational activities. § Build strong relationship by addressing customer issues and complaints in a timely manner. § Assist in employee appraisals, promotions, compensation and termination based on their performance reviews. § Provide operational support and guidance to staff at varying levels. § Assist in developing operating and capital budgets for the business. § Monitor and control expense according to allotted budget. § Assist in interviewing, recruiting and training candidates. § Manage work assignment and allocation for different units. § Conduct periodic reviews and provide performance feedback to staff. § Maintain accurate and clear documentation for operational procedures and activities. § Work in compliance with company policies and procedures. § Ensure team compliance with standard operating procedures for all operational functions of the business. § Conduct regular meetings with team to discuss operational issues, concerns, updates etc. § Support operational risk and audit process for the purpose of preventive maintenance. § Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time. 2
