RR2445 Log Debarking Tool WARNING: Carefully read and understand all Instructions before operating this tool. Failure to follow the safety rules and other basic safety precautions may result in serious personal injury. To use this tool with a chainsaw you must understand and follow all safety precautions and information found in the chainsaw manual. Modification of this tool will void any warranty and could result in Serious Injury Range Road Enterprises Ltd Box 944 Eckville AB T0M 0X0 www.range-road.ca www.range-road.com The RR2445 Log Debarker is intended to be used on 65cc or smaller chain saws with .325 or 3/8” pitch chains. Use on larger chainsaws could cause damage to the splines on the tool where the drive rim sits. To use the RR2445 Log Debarker you will need a shorter bar or longer chain for your chainsaw, whichever is the most economical for the user. For instance if you use a 16” bar you will need and 18” chain, if you use an 18” bar you will need a 20” chain. Our recommendation is to use a 16” bar and 18” chain. You can also get cutterless chain for use on the debarker tool only in .325 .050. Make sure that you install the correct drive sprocket on the Log Debarker for your chain. You can check the fit by wrapping your chain around each sprocket to see which engages better. To change the drive sprocket, carefully secure the debarker in a vice so you can undo the 19mm retaining bolt, do not over tighten the vice and damage the debarker. Use a 19mm socket to hold the bolt on the left (#5) and remove the 19mm retaining bolt (#8) with a second wrench. To re-install, centre the flat washer over the bearing, install the new drive gear and then line the inner spline up with the spline on the bolt and tighten the bolt, red thread locker is recommended. Range Road Enterprises Ltd Box 944 Eckville AB T0M 0X0 www.range-road.ca www.range-road.com It may be necessary to drill to holes in your bar for mounting the debarker, if so set the debarker on the bar to use as a guide and mark your drill points. There should be approximately 32mm (1 ¼”) from the end of your bar to the debarker sprocket, see picture 1, below. You will mark your holes in the center of the slot on the debarker so you have some adjustment, see picture 2 below. Picture 1 Picture 2 Note: I you have the Cannon debarker bar this comes supplied pre drilled and ready for fitting. Drill 2 - 8mm (5/16”) holes and bolt the RR2445 Log Debarker to the bar[ensuring that you include the teardrop spacer between the tool and the bar in order to space the chain away from the tool],, do not over tighten, then mount the bar to the chainsaw. Install your chain and tension it normally, test that the chain and debarker head turn easily. Re-check that all bolts have been tightened. The Log Debarker blades come pre-set with .8mm (1/32”), setting the blades to an increased depth could cause shavings to get under the blades and will add stress to the chain, possibly causing it to stretch. Do not set blades too aggressively.
