FAQ Q. Is there a limited number of entries? A. Yes the event is limited to 2,200 entries. Q. Can I enter after the online entry is closed? A. There may be the opportunity to enter an event on the day, only if the event has not sold out. This will be communicated on social media platforms prior to the event. Q. Do I have to go to registration? A. If you have selected the postage option for your race kit, then you do not need to present at registration. If you have not opted for the kit to be posted , then you must present at registration. Q. When will my race package be posted out to me? A. Your race pack will be sent to you in the weeks leading to the event. It should arrive with you roughly 10 - 7 days before the event. Q. What time should I arrive to the event? A. You should arrive well in advance of the start of the race, especially if you need to register. Give yourself time to prepare for the race, have a stretch and orient yourself with the starting area. Q. Can I get a refund or defer my entr y? A. Unfortunately, no. We cannot refund your fee (unless requested within 14 days of purchase) or defer entry to the following year under any circumstances. Transfers are also not allowed. Q. Why do I have to pay for a one day licence? A. The one - day - li cence is a requirement by Athletics Ireland to compete in their events. The fee is only applicable to participants who are not a member of Athletics Ireland. Q. I registered for the half marathon, can I drop to the 10km? A. We allow participants to change their booking up to three weeks prior to the event. There is a €5 admin fee for changes to bookings. Q. Can I walk the event? A. Yes we allow walkers and have an earlier start time for them so they ca n enjoy the atmosphere at the finish along with the runners. Q. Will I get an official time for my race? A. Yes. We are using timing chips. You will receive one attached to your race number at registration Q. Will I get a medal for finishing the race? A Yes, everyone who finishes will receive a medal. Q. Can I raise funds for charity? A. Yes, we encourage you to do so. Q. Can a friend/family member run part of the race with me? A. Unfortunately, no. There are insurance issues with non - registered people running the event. The participant limit is also to ensure the enjoyment of the event by not overcrowding the course. Q. Is there an age restriction for participants? A. The minimum age for the event is 16 years. Q. What are the rules of the race? A. The rules of the race are to ensure that everyone enjoys a fun, safe and fair event. 1. Please obey the Stewards & Gardai at all times. 2. Please keep to the time deadlines. Walkers have set times to arrive at the Start/Finish as do the ru nners for the start of the race. 3. Do not take any short cuts off the course, you are only cheating yourself. 4. Competitors should have their number clearly visible on the front of their running top. 5. Runners who finish the race without a number will not receiv e a finisher’s medal. There will be no exceptions to this. 6. Outside assistance is not allowed. You may carry your own food or drinks but support from cars or bikes is strictly prohibited. This is in the interest of giving everyone an equal chance. 7. Please do not leave valuables in the dry bags. The organisers cannot accept responsibility for lost, stolen or mislaid dry bags. 8. It is the responsibility of the participants to know the route and change over points. 9. You must register and sign the waiver to be part of the race. Failure to do so will result in forfeiting the race.
