INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOU OR YOUR HANDYMAN (WOMAN) Installation Time: Under 45 minutes ITEMS NEEDED Sandpaper to clean PVC after cutting 2 inch PVC Schedule 40 Pipe to length PVC Primer and Cement Permanent Marker Hacksaw or Chop Saw Tape Measure STEP 1 A. Identify the PVC pipe that exits the pool filter. This should be a 2 inch PVC pipe. The Aquastaser is installed after the pool filter (before the elbow that returns water to your pool). B. Ensure that you have at least 38 inches of PVC between the pool filter and your elbow. If there is not at least 38 inch, you may need to move your pool filter unit back a few inches. Also, it is recommended that you install the Aquastaser at least 6 inch away from the return elbow. Aquastaser fits here STEP 2 A. Determine whether you will need any 2 inch PVC couplings for your installation, and then measure and cut the necessary lengths of 2 inch PVC. Align the 2 inch 3-Port Ball Valve with the 2 inch Schedule 40 PVC piping to align with the exit port of your pool filter. Ensure that the 3-port Ball Valve has been fitted so water may flow directly into your Aquastaser, and also be able to divert water away from your pool filter and pump when flushing your filter. B. Please note that any debris that gets lodged in the Aquastaser may cause the device to fail and not operate properly on your pool system, so make sure to clean and wipe any cut PVC parts. C. When you dry fit your Aquastaser, check that the flow directional arrow is pointing toward the pool return, and away from your filter. STEP 3 B. Remember, always measure and fit twice and glue once. Allow your PVC Cement to cure according to the label’s instructions. A. Follow the directions on your PVC Primer and Cement labels and complete the installation of your PVC fittings. STEP 4 Aquastaser Checklist STEP 5 A. Remember, you must flush or backwash your pool filter prior to allowing water to enter your Aquastaser. If you have installed a 3 port ball valve you may do this by turning your valve to flow away from your Aquastaser for 30 seconds while the pump is running. Failure to do so may clog the Aquastser, with debris from your filter and void your device’s warranty. A. You may now restore the flow of water from your pool pump and filter to the Aquastaser. Your pool is now ready for a healthy and safe chlorine and chemical free swimming experience. Your Aquastaser is Now Installed! As with all pools, regular maintenance is required. Sweep the walls and floor of your pool regularly, and run an automatic vacuum when possible. Before regular filter maintenance, always turn the 3-Port Ball Valve to flow water away from the Aquastaser. When maintenance is complete, run your pump so water flows away from your pool for at least 30 seconds before restoring flow to the Aquastaser. Recommended Aquastaser/Pump Operation Times Since the Aquastaser only works when your pool pump is running, we recommend starting with these suggested times. You can optimize your own times once the system is running. 8 hours/day in cool months 10 hours/day in warmer months 12+ hours/day in hottest months If you are transitioning your pool from a Saltwater System to the Aquastaser, please note you will need to unplug the electrical components of your Salt Cell. Removal of the control panel is optional. Depending on the positioning of your Salt Cell, you may be able to replace the Aquastaser in the location of your Salt Cell. Once your Aquastaser is installed, you will no longer need salt added to your pool. For customers living in Florida or Arizona, or other above average temperature zones, we have found extremely successful pairing with our Ionizer product to reduce seasonal algal blooms and maintaining a clear pool.
