Tabletop Republic welcomes you to the ir inaugural Middle Earth event, hosted by your TO Nat Sinclair. This tournament will be a 500 point GBHL 80 event in the South East region. Page | 2 Ticket information Tickets are priced at £20 and cover tournament entry 24 t ickets will be available to purchase from midday on Sunday 19 th March via the Tabletop Republic website and will be sold on a first come, first served basis. A waiting list will be made availab le on the Fa cebook event page should tickets sell out. Refunds can only be issued up to 10 th May. Should you no longer be able to attend after this date, selling your ticket to a prospective player on the waiting list is acceptable. Players must be aged 16+ and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian if under 18. Venue information About The event will be held at Tabletop Republic in High Wycombe at 37 High Street, High Wycombe, HP11 2AG Tabletop Republic is a well - established game store stocking a vast array of games and hobby supplies The new store on the High Street is now even bigger and support s a lively local gaming community. Lunch is not included in the ticket however the store is aiming to have its new canteen up and running by this date. Getting here Train services between London Marylebone and Birmingham stop at High Wycombe Station which is 5 minutes walk from the venue. If driving, High Wycombe is directly off junction 4 of the M40. There is no on - site parking however the Eden Centre, Wycombe Swan and Dovecot car parks are all within easy walking distance from the store. Should the final turn go beyond time, players are expected to complete this with urgency. Please make sure results slips are handed in promptly to help us stay on schedule. Page | 3 Your Army List Submission Please submit your army lists by 23:59 on 27 th May via e mail to contact@tabletoprepublic.com for checking. Note that compliance with this deadline is the first tiebreaker! Please indicate your leader on your list and bring a copy to share with your opponents on the day. Modelling Restrictions All m odels must be fully painted, based and wherever possible WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get). In the case of “counts as” conversions , weapon swaps , 3D prints etc. these must be cl early representative - please let u s know what you’re planning ahead of the event for approval. Choosing your force For this tournament you will need a single 5 0 0 point army chosen from the following publications: Armies of The Lord of The Rings ; Armies of The Hobbit ; Gondor at War ; War in Rohan ; Scouring of The Shire ; Quest of the Ringbearer; Fall of The Necromancer; Defence of the North. Should a new supplement be released on or before 13 th May this will also become eligible. There are no additional restrictions on alliances , legendary legions or profiles. Agents of Sharkey Warbands from Sharkey’s Rogues army list (including Scouring of the Shire profiles) will count as green allies to all Evil factions, disregarding the ally table and any heroic tier requirements . Note that Legendary Legions may not ally so do not benefit from this. For the Shire! Any Good army may include warbands from The Shire army list (including Scouring of the Shire profiles) that will count as green allies to all factions , disregarding the ally table and any heroic tier requirements This does not extend to old Bilbo, who remains impossible allies as defined in his profile. Note that Legendary Legions may not ally so do not benefit from this. What you need to bring on the day • F ully painted and based 5 0 0 point army. • Any sourcebooks /FAQs with rules for you r models. • A copy of The Middle - earth Strategy Battle Game Rulebook • A copy of your army list • Measuring t ape, dice, writing implements and any o bjective markers that you’ll need to play Page | 4 Tournament structure and scoring Pairings The tournament will use Swiss ranking with the first round randomly drawn. In the unlikely event that you are drawn against an opponent you have already played please inform the TO who will switch you around to find a new opponent. Scoring A total of 3 points are available to each player over the course of the tournament and each of the 3 games will give the following : Win = 1 tournament point Draw = 0.5 tournament points Loss = 0 tournament point Conceding will be recorded as a 12 - 0 loss, give zero tournament points and should be avoided unless absolutely necessary. Results from each game should be recorded on a provided resu lts slip and given to the TO promptly. Tiebreakers The tournament rankings will be determined by tournament points with the following tiebreakers 1. Army list was submitted on time 2. VPs scored 3. Win strength of schedule 4. VP differential In the event the tiebreakers are not enough to separate two players in the final rankings a randomiser will decide the outcome. Scenarios Scenarios will be randomly drawn from the Middle - earth Strategy Battle Game Matched Play Guide. The ‘Storm the Camp’ and ‘Heirlooms of Ages Past’ scenarios are excluded and will be rerolled. No pools will be repeated. T ables and Terrain All games will be played on 4’x4’ tables with pre - set scenery. Ahead of each game you should ensure that you agree with your opponent how to treat each element as necessary. In the event you cannot agree, the TO will make a ruling. Tournament Organiser rulings If you come to a point where something occurs th at i s not covered clearly by the rules, try to resolve it in a mutually agreeable manner. If this is not possible, ask the TO . Bear in mind that the TO’s ruling is final, regardless of whether it goes your way or not, or even if it’s “roll a dice for it”. You have limited time to play your games, so quickly resolving these issues is e ncouraged. Page | 5 In the unlikely situation where a player is being obstructive or unreasonable or is affecting other p eople’s enjoyment of the weekend the tournament organisers will take appropriate action. Players should refrain from bringing large displays as storing these during play may be challenging. Sportsmanship At the end of the tournament you will be asked to vote for your favourite opponent toward the most sporting award.
