Grraarrgghh’s So You’ve Received An Ethermine Payout To The Polygon Mainnet But You Want It In Binance Instead… FIRST THINGS FIRST. IF YOU’RE ALREADY SETUP IN METAMASK AND BINANCE CLICK HERE TO SKIP AHEAD. This guide assumes you have already set up Metamask and changed your Ethermine Payout to L2 Polygon (Matic): Setting up Metamask video tutorial: https://youtu.be/MfkqgXNPiHg Change MetaMask language: https://metamask.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360032949832-How-to-change-the-language- settings-in-MetaMask Please setup the above and Connect your new (or existing) Metamask Wallet to Ethermine, and start mining into the Metamask address. Once you’ve received at least one Polygon payout (.005 ETH>.005 WETH), and you have a valid Binance account, you can continue. This guide does not exist to walk you through setting yourself up on Binance. These same methods can be altered to offer access to both CoinBase and Crypto.com but I’m not writing guides for those…yet. Sites/Apps Used This guide is to instruct Ethermine users set up for Polygon Payouts in MetaMask on how to cheaply move your WETH from Polygon to Binance, where you can then use it on the exchange for whatever you want. The following sites/apps will be used in this guide: • Metamask – It’s a highly-functional wallet • Binance – It’s an exchange with really cheap trading fees and decent sidechain support via BSC • QuickSwap – It’s a cheap coin changing app that lets you swap tokens within the Polygon mainnet That’s it. Just 4 sites/apps that will make this process decently quick and extremely cheap. Polygon Faucet Before you even start, make sure you go to https://matic.supply/ and grab a couple portions of MATIC. These are essential to (partially) funding your transaction in most instances, and you can top up every day as necessary. Easy Method: WETH to MATIC to Binance This method sends your tokens directly to Binance with minimal effort. It may not be available in all regions. Convert WETH to MATIC 1. Step 1 is to convert your WETH to MATIC on Polygon. Make sure your Metamask wallet is set to “Polygon”: If you don’t have Polygon available in your network selections, go to https://wallet.matic.network/login/ and connect Metamask to Polygon 2. Go to https://quickswap.exchange/#/swap and click “Connect to a wallet” at the top right: 3. A pop-up asking you which method you wish to connect through will appear, select Metamask 4. Click through on the Metamask signature that will pop up in the top-right 5. Once connected, your MATIC balance and (partial) wallet address will be in the top right instead: 6. In the centre of the window, a swap box will appear: Modify the parameters to be from ETH (it is the WETH in your wallet) to MATIC. In this instance I’m only going to send ~$5 of MATIC to Binance but this can be done with any amount you wish. The slippage and fee (which is a couple cents) is noted below 7. Click “Swap” to start the process. A confirmation window will pop: Click “Confirm Swap”. This will typically take a minute to convert NOTE: If you receive this window: Just click “Dismiss” and keep retrying. Doing this during off-hours is recommended. You can also click the gear ( ) at the top right and change the Slippage percentage, but you will end up paying more gas (it is .5% by default): 8. A confirmation window from Metamask will populate. Click Confirm to continue, or up the Gas Price if you want the transaction faster: A “Transaction Submitted” window will pop up after confirmation. Close the window 9. The transaction will show a “Pending” at the top right of QuickSwap during the conversion process: Note that an excessively low gas price could make this take a fair bit longer 10. Once the transaction has completed, switch back to your Metamask wallet and select your MATIC 11. Click “Send” to bring up the “Add Recipient” screen 12. In Binance, open your Spot Wallet: 13. In the search box, search for MATIC, then select “Deposit”: 14. Select “MATIC” from the network type on the left, and then copy the deposit address that populates (which looks to be the same as the ERC-20 address I guess): 15. Go back to Metamask, and paste the address in the Send field. Enter the amount of MATIC you wish to send, and change the gas price appropriately, then click “Next”: 16. Double check gas, and click “Confirm”: 17. Your MATIC should shortly arrive in your Binance account after it is confirmed on the blockchain!
