Page 1 of 2 HTBB Safeguarding Policy Holy Trinity Bukit Bintang Church (HTBB) is committed to the safety and well - being of all its members, particularly children, youth, and vulnerable adults. Everyone who participates in the life of HTBB plays a part in promoting a safer church for all. Hence, we take our safeguarding responsibilities with utmost importance. Safeguarding is all the action a church takes to promote a safer culture. Safeguarding includes: • Promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. • Preventing abuse from happening. • Protecting those who are at risk of being abused. • Responding well to those who have been abused. In promoting a safer church and culture in HTBB, we are committed to the following: • Promoting a safer environment and culture to nurture, protect, and safeguard all members, particularly children, youth and vulnerable adults. • Conduct proper due diligence on selecting and recruiting all staff and volunteers. • Ensure staff and volunteers abide by the HTBB Staff and Volunteers: Behaviour Protocols • Equip staff and volunteers with safeguarding knowledge and skills to recognise and respond to abuse or safeguarding concerns. • All concerns and allegations of abuse will be responded to appropriately, including referring to the relevant authorities if necessary. • Provide pastoral care and support to anyone who has suffered or been affected by abuse. • Review the implementation of HTBB safeguarding policy, procedures, and practices annually. While safeguarding is the whole church's responsibility, Safeguarding Officers are appointed to advise, support, and respond to safeguarding concerns related to children, youth, or anyone at risk.
