Isaiah 66:18-21, Ps 117:1,2, Hebrews 12:5-7,11-13, Luke 13:22-30 Mother’s Love The love of a mother is unconditional. It has no limit and there is no ‘if’. It is ready to take the risk even if it means that it has to face rejection and insult. It is exactly the kind of love that we see in the heart of this Canaanite woman in the gospel today which is pleading for help and mercy for her very sick daughter. We don’t need to be a mother in order to truly feel this kind of love toward others. We don’t even need to be a believer of God to desire for mercy. Remem- ber, that the woman in the Gospel today is a pagan. We only need to possess the love of a mother to re- ceive healing, mercy and love of God. ************************************ Praises of Mary by Legion of Mary Prayer Request for the Sick Please pray for the following individuals, that they may be healed by the Grace of God: Lee Minyard, Rudy Marquez Jr., Imelda Sandate, Diane Galindo Salinas, Mary Diane Rios, Annie Hubnik, Michelle Ro- driguez, Charlie & Dora Carrasco, David H. View this bulletin online at www.DiscoverMass.com St. Mary’s Church August 16, 2020 Act of Spiritual Communion My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sac- rament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramen- tally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen. -EWTN Coronavirus Prayer Holy Virgin of Guadalupe, Queen of the Angels and Mother of the Americas. We fly to you today as your beloved children. We ask you to intercede for us with your Son, as you did at the wedding in Cana. Pray for us, loving Mother, and gain for our nation and world, and for all our families and loved ones, the protection of your holy angels, that we may be spared the worst of this illness. For those already afflicted, we ask you to obtain the grace of healing and deliver- ance. Hear the cries of those who are vulnerable and fear- ful, wipe away their tears and help them to trust. In this time of trial and testing, teach all of us in the Church to love one another and to be patient and kind. Help us to bring the peace of Jesus to our land and to our hearts. We come to you with confidence, knowing that you truly are our compassionate mother, health of the sick and cause of our joy. Shelter us under the mantle of your protection, keep us in the embrace of your arms, help us always to know the love of your Son, Jesus. Amen. -USCCB Upcoming Special Collections August 30th: College & University Campus Ministry September 13th: Building Fund September 27th: Diocesan Seminarian Education SERVICE Catholic Woman’s Conference Ladies, the Catholic Women’s Conference for the Diocese of San Angelo is happening on Sept. 11 &12, 2020!
