DESCENT As soon as the <TOD> point on ND is reached, and the descent commences: Main Instrument Panel / PFD — VNAV PATH — Green VNAV PATH indicator should appear (A pink bar will also be visible on the right side of the PFD, indicating the descent is ongoing) Overhead / Interior Lights — FASTEN SEATBELTS — ON Power Lever Quadrant — POWER LEVERS — Set FLIGHT IDLE or close to FLIGHT IDLE (Monitor torque parameters and adjust power levers gently as needed to avoid overspeed or stall.) When reaching FL100: Overhead / External Lights — LANDING LIGHTS — ON APPROACH (Monitor torque parameters and adjust power levers gently to reduce speed for approach) When in reach of runway / ILS freq: (check by briefly holding FORMAT button on Front Pedestal) FGCP — NAV SOURCE — SET TO ILS 2 (cross-check on the PFD) FIRST ON F/O SIDE! FGCP — NAV SOURCE — SET TO ILS 1 (cross-check on the PFD) NOW ON CAPTAIN SIDE! (Select ILS NAV source on Captain side when ready to exit flight route and intercept runway course.) If manual descent needed to capture G/S or other operational requirements: FGCP — VS — SET VS — Use CENTER WHEEL to control descent. (cross-check on the PFD) If manual navigation is needed to capture G/S or other operational requirements: FGCP — HDG KNOB — SET REQUIRED HEADING (cross-check on the ND) FINAL APPROACH (Monitor torque parameters and adjust power levers gently to reduce speed for final approach) When frequency is (auto) tuned in ARCDU, ILS approach is set, and ready to intercept LOC and G/S: FGCP — APPR BUTTON — PRESS (check upper part of PFD: LOC ) When LOC is captured, the LEFT upper part of the PFD will show a green-marked LOC marking. The LOC diamond will center the aircraft with the runway. When G/S is captured, the RIGHT upper part of the PFD will show a green-marked G/S marking. The G/S diamond will descend the aircraft onto the runway.
