After what has been an incredibly difficult year for so many of us, it feels particularly special, to be able to host a league game at Basford, for the first time since November 2020. Over the Summer we have managed to bring some fantastic people into the squad. Both on the pitch but also as part of our backroom team. Our partnership with Nottingham Trent University continues to flourish, with media volunteers keeping you all up to date on our signings, as well as the addition of Alex Flack, who will come on board as our head of Physical Performance. The season on the pitch has not started as we had hoped. With a narrow defeat away to Rotherham, a game in which we produced a fantastic display, and the defeat to Oughtibridge, in which we all know we were well off our best. Today is another chance to get off the mark and put last week to bed with a strong performance. We go into today's game knowing just how formidable an opponent Rise Park are, with us both taking an equal share of the spoils over our previous 4 fixtures. We are a team in transition, with a new league and some exciting new players, it will just take us a little time to gel and find our feet. As always thank you for your continued support! #COYP ADunleavy Adam Dunleavy Manager PARTNERS The amazing work that we do across our senior section would not be possible without the support of our partners. Thank you so much to everyone who has joined the NCFC Women's family for the 2021/22 season. As the club's main shirt sponsor, Woodthorpe Hospital is a vital partner whose support allows the team to flourish on the pitch. The hospital, which is a part of Ramsey Health Care, has been a pillar of the local community for over 100 years, having provided healthcare to the people of Nottingham since 1877. Thank you for your support, Woodthorpe Hospital! 3 THEOPPOSITION RISE PARK THE LOWDOWN Rise Park had made a mixed start to the 21/22 season. An opening day draw against Oughtibridge was to be followed up by a 4-2 defeat to Mansfield Town. Rise then hosted league favourites, Northampton Town, and suffered a 7-0 defeat and so sit on 1 point from 3 games, heading into todays fixture. HEAD TO HEAD The two sides have met in each of the last 3 seasons, with all games coming in the form of Cup competition. In the first meeting, a Chelsie Hooley free-kick in extra time was all that separated the teams with Notts progressing in the cup. The following year saw Notts out of the FA cup in extra time to Rise Park after extra time and a victory for Rise in the League Cup first round after an injury saw the original game Notts were winning 2-0 abandoned. I take the goalkeepers from both the L development squad and the first team every training session and put them through their paces! PREVIOUS CLUBS I spent just over five years as a community coach for Notts County Football in the K Community. This is where I got my desire to become a coach in the women’s game. AMBITIONS E I believe that the sky is the limit. With the back-room staff, players and support we have at the club, we can progress through the leagues. Everyone is on the same hymn sheet and we’re all pushing in the same direction both on and off the pitch. E COACHING FOR NCWFC P E Firstly, it is an honour to have my role at the club. I love doing what I do here. We are such a tight group of coaches; we spend more time with each other than we do with our families. The player are a breath of fresh air. They have the right attitude, the hunger to want to learn more every time they step on to the pitch. Every single one of R them will give their absolute all for the club. As a coach you cannot ask for more. FAVOURITE MOMENT My first season at the club. I was assistant manager to Sean Denham and the 9 development side. We won the league and narrowly missed out on the cup trophy too, losing in the final. A first season together as a team doesn’t get much better than that.
