PLATFORM: Equity in Education Sound Fiscal Leadership Expanding Educational Resources & Community Partnerships Community service is part of the fabric of my family and I’ve been active within community organizations for the last 15 years. As a current board member of the Upper Merion Area Community Cupboard, I am the acting secretary and am also responsible for marketing and work to ensure our shelves stay stocked! Previously, as chair of the UM Economic and Community Development Committee, I secured a grant so families with limited incomes could join the Community Center at no charge. I also started the Upper Merion Area Community Action Network FB group which connects 500+ members to community volunteer opportunities. Because of these experiences, I am keenly aware that the challenges we face are as broad and diverse as our community. If elected to School Board, I will do a lot of listening and learning, as there are many opinions and interests at stake - from teachers, parents & community members, and first and foremost our students. And, because of the pandemic, there is a lot of emotion that has entered into education that wasn't as obvious as before. Every student in our district should receive the resources needed to set them up for a bright future full of opportunity. My goal is to always take thoughtful action and make informed decisions that consider needs across our community to help ensure all Upper Merion students have an equitable educational experience and are set up for future success. I am a 19-year resident of Upper Merion Township and the mother of a dynamic fifth grader in the Upper Merion Area Middle School. I work full time as the Vice President of Marketing at Genex Services and lead a team of 14 professionals. In addition to my other volunteer activities, I am also a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran’s Outreach Committee. Previously, I co-led a humanitarian trip to Rwanda to work with orphans in the Nibakure Children’s Village and have been a re-occurring contributor to the Huffington Post. I started in community activism as the chairperson of the Upper Merion Environmental Advisory Council. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing and a Minor in Psychology from Villanova University.
