What is Team T ime? • For a minimum of 1 hour before the start of the stage and 1 hour after the stage, all riders should be in the team area to allow the Team Manager to settle on tactics, or to reflect on the performances from that day. • In a similar approach to RSR sessions, parents are requested NOT to be in the team area during this time. • If required, the Team Manager may identify other points in the day when Team Time is required. c: \ users \ melissamarshall \ downloads \ school games v3.docx 9 Can I visit my child in the accommodation? • This is a fantastic event for parents and riders and there are of course numerous opportunities for catching up. In selection processes, a re stage race results viewed more positively compared to individual events? • Overall results in any stage races will not necessarily be considered over performances in the individual events raced. If races are about development, why are riders required to be at RSR standard, or have abilities approaching this? • The School Games is toug h, as it is 3 day s rac ing against the best riders in the country and some of these riders even dominate European events! The RSR standa rd (or abilities approaching this) set a minimum standard in order that a rider doesn’t attend the event and be out of their depth. • A rider being out of their depth could represent poor rider development and therefore this would conflict with the BCNE ai m of helping riders to progress and enjoy racing. Will parents, riders and managers have to sign a code of conduct? • In short, yes. • We are currently creating a code of conduct for all parties to sign as confirmation behaviour of all individuals will be professional, positive and courteous on all occasions , whilst representing , or being associated with the British Cycling North East tea m. • It is an expectation, set down by the BC Board, that riders and their parents who wil l be in attendance at the event, sign a code of conduct form. c: \ users \ melissamarshall \ downloads \ school games v3.docx 11 Appendix A: Rider Application Form : Return to jackrees@britishcycling.org.uk by Mon 17 May 9am Name Club/Team Parental Name & Contact Name: Email: Year AND Category Gender If you have been selected for RSR or NSR state discipline?
