Parents Report: Furries Distraction and Bullying In Colorado Schools My next-door neighbor’s daughter was almost suspended because she “barked back” at a kid who “identi es” as a cat and continuously hisses and scratches at other kids. She wears a cat costume every day. In my own daughters’ school, many kids identify as various animals and on their teacher surveys do not list pronouns, but animal nouns instead. Cynthia-Je co Parent Furries are real, visit any high school! My daughter was dress coded for a midri shirt, in the same day she was barked and hissed at. Who do you think got reprimanded?-Marcia-Je co Parent Wayne Carle Middle School has quite a few. My ASD kiddo gets extremely agitated, dysregulated, and confused. It’s a really hard concept to try teaching my 14 year old autistic kiddo because his brain is so black and white and he gets xated easily. He quickly gets xated and the “unfairness” and distraction. Darlene-Je co Parent I have a daughter who's former friend identi es as a "furry" and it's VERY distracting for kids in school. They are wearing a costume with tails, ears, ect and hissing/barking at other kids. You want to dress up to express yourself, cool. Just not in a classroom setting. We send our kids to school to learn. Casey-Je co Parent fi ff ff fi fi ff fi ff ff My Je Co 11th grader: “Well, it seems like a joke. Except the tail, the way they talk and the way they interact. Craig-Je co Parent Mandalay Middle School has litter box in the nurse's o ce for kids who are attending that school who identify as cats (this was shared with me by a Je co employee). This issue is de nitely not settled district-wide. Jennie-Je co Parent Furries are absolutely a thing. My seventeen year idk has told us on multiple occasions about the kids who wear ears, tails, and collars and hiss, meow, and lick themselves in class. Heidi Ganahl is not exaggerating. This was at a small charter school in Westminster, I have no doubt it’s happening in the larger schools. Marissa-Je co Parent This is happening! I have a client right now who is horri ed to use the restroom bc a "furry" is allowed to hiss and paw at girls as they enter. Amber-Je co Parent Sending it now. Both topics are false.
