It is 50 questions in 90 minutes with a 63% pass mark. First, the fee depends on your country. HPE prices all its HPE0 exams at USD 260 in developed countries and USD 145 in emerging ones. Second, HPE warns that the exam may contain beta test items "for experimental purposes", so a question that looks out of place is no reason to panic. Third, this is an ASE-level exam with a prerequisite: you must already hold HPE ATP - Edge-to-cloud architect, or the older HPE ATP - Hybrid Cloud, which HPE now lists as inactive. You book through Pearson VUE, at a test centre or with an online proctor. HPE writes this exam for "presales solution architects who plan and design HPE solutions" , with two to three years of hands-on experience designing for midrange Enterprise customers. The details come from HPE’s release notes for the certification, dated 1 July 2026. The exam content was refreshed on 15 June 2026. The exam ID stayed HPE0-V27, but HPE removed legacy content and added material on the HPE Private Cloud portfolio, HPE ProLiant Gen12 systems, HPE Morpheus Enterprise Software, HPE Zerto Software and HPE Juniper Networking. Items on Scality and Qumulo were removed. HPE recommends the new course, HPE Edge-to-Cloud Solutions Rev. 26.21 (course ID 0001215454), for the updated exam. HPE also notes that translations usually follow 8 to 12 weeks after a new exam version, which matters if you plan to sit it in Japanese or Korean. The certification now needs more than the exam. From 1 July 2026, ASE-EdgCldAr is part of HPE Tech Pro’s continuous learning program. New candidates must pass HPE0-V27 and three badge exams: HPE3-CL20 (Cloud Portfolio Exam), HPE3-CL29 (Edge-to-Cloud - Software Exam) and HPE3-CL30 (Edge-to-Cloud - Services Exam). HPE3 badge exams cost USD 65 each on HPE’s price list. Architect and design carries 24% , customer requirements and positioning HPE offerings carry 20% each, and together those three make up almost two thirds of the exam. On a 50-question paper, 24% works out to about twelve questions and 20% to about ten (our arithmetic; HPE does not publish per-domain question counts). HPE’s certification page says it verifies that you can translate business and technical requirements into a complete HPE solution design across storage, compute, GreenLake and networking, "considering all available consumption models and hosting locations." It replaced the earlier HPE0-S57 exam, Designing HPE Hybrid IT Solutions. No salary survey tracks this certification by name, so here is the nearest honest benchmark. Payscale puts the average base salary of a solutions architect in the United States at $136,232 , with the middle 80% between $88k and $180k. That is based on 2,362 salary profiles, last updated 9 July 2026. Presales solution design is what this exam tests, but a job-title average is not a promise for any one certificate holder. Why this one, specifically It is HPE’s architect-level credential across compute, storage, networking and GreenLake. Nearly two thirds of the weight sits on requirements, positioning and design. The June 2026 update keeps it current: Gen12, Private Cloud, Morpheus, Juniper. Recertify by passing HPE0-V27, HPE7-V01 or Master ASE, or the three badge exams.
