This week, we are going to start a little slower. We are going to spend a little time Sunday talking about change. Some- times these last few seasons it seemed like change was the only thing we could count on. But now, as 2024 is just now starting, it might be appropriate to not look so much at all we have been through, but what we should plan to do and to be. Maybe it is time to take our eyes off of the rear - view mirror and look forward to the road ahead. For years our motto has been: Christ Centered, Bible Based, People Oriented. To live up to that motto, we should continually be looking forward to what God has planned for us. The years ahead will certainly involve transformation. Let us be ready! This month we have added a special program to our prayer list. I have used some of the unspent Pastor ’ s Love Fund balance to sponsor grocery/gas cards for the Grow Together Program. This is a new program offered by Love Inc. of Benton County. The Grow Together program offers free educational classes to help break cycles of need and awaken hope for the future. People from all walks of life can grow together in a safe, Christ - centered environment. Tangible outcomes may include: reduced debt, stronger relationships, healthier lifestyles, and more! Participants include Love INC clients and Benton County community members. Client participants are eligible to receive incentives and mentoring as they progress through the program. We are providing gas/grocery cards as incentives to those that achieve set goals in the program. Please pray for this new project that will provide real results for those who dedicate themselves to succeed! See you Sunday! Being a liturgist in the church service is often a vital part of our preparation for worship and is an opportunity for members of the congregation to participate in worship on an continual basis. We are discussing new ways that the liturgist can be a more involved part of our worship in 2024. I am going to ask those serving as liturgist on a given Sunday to assist and lead in new ways: • If you are able, come early enough to be present prior to worship to hand out bulletins and assist newcomers • Lead the Call to Worship and read the first scripture • Announce the Hymn of Praise Dr Jim will continue to give the announcements and announce the first hymn. Please see Dr. Jim with any questions. Thank you to all our liturgists that will serve in 2024. Your participation is vital to our service! Dear Crater Lake District Pastors and local church leaders, There are several reports that are due from the local church and/or clergy persons in mid - February which we call the "year - end" reports. Reports will be completed online. Key leaders in your church have a People Portal with access to the church dashboard. The Statistical Reports are completed online through the GCFA site and a link will be available on the church dashboard in early January. Year - end reports are due by February 15, 2024. If you have info we need to fill out these forms, Dr Jim will be contacting you soon! Yay!
