We were blow away by the fantastic support we received against Lincoln in the FA cup and we are all sorry we could not get over the line for you. Football can be a cruel game and it certainly felt like it that day, after dominating for the majority of the game, a lack of street smart and a bit of naivety cost us a place in the next round. It was vital that we learned from our experience and bounced back with a solid performance away from home against Ilkeston. The team put in the hard graft at training during the two week gap and we felt we controlled the game from start to finish. With our Keeper self isolating and top goalscorer missing through illness, the team rallied together and showed how much talent and strength in depth we have this year. It was fantastic to see debuts for all our new signings across the 90, along with a clean sheet for the defensive unit! We are all keen to be back on home turf this week and put into place the work the players have done at training. We know from experience that Loughborough are a well organised and difficult test for the squad, it's important we keep our levels against them this afternoon as we go after the points. I hope you all enjoy the game today and as always thank you for your continued support! #COYP Adam Dunleavy Manager Adam Dunleavy Manager's Notes ADunleavy 2 Last week Adam Dunleavy was accompanied by staff Adam Woolley and first team players Holly Fowler and Zanny Deorio on a visit to The Woodthorpe Hospital. Hospital Director, Marcus Taylor was on hand to welcome the team and present the sponsorship cheque, confirming the commitment of support for another season. The Woodthorpe Hospital have been fantastic in their support for the senior teams, both with a financial contribution and the offering of industry leading diagnostics and injury support to the players. We are delighted to welcome them on board for another season and we can't wait to work on more projects with them over the coming year. P A R T N E R S The amazing work that we do across our senior section would not be possible without the support of our partners . Thank you so much to everyone who has joined the NCFC Women's family for the 2020/21 season. 3 LAST SEASON The Vixens were 7th when the 2019/20 football season was curtailed, having lost 8 of their 11 games. The team did however finish the season on a high, with a 5-4 win over Ilkeston Town, thanks in no small part to a hat trick from Jessica Waldrum. Manager Adam Dunleavy made three changes from the FA Cup defeat against Lincoln United, with Lashea Francis, Chelsie Hooley and Melissa East coming in for Beth Mullxhi, Zoe Meyrick and Bella Reed. Notts started the game strongly, and it didn't take long before the Magpies made their dominance count. A teasing 19th minute Hooley corner was met by the head of Jessica Knott, who powered home to make it 1-0. And shortly after, Notts struck again to double their advantage. ilkeston to w n NOTTS COUNTY Nya Chambers raced clear of the defence and kept her cool to slot past the onrushing keeper to continue her goal scoring form. The Pies went in two goals to the good at the break, and kept things tight after the restart as they looked to learn their lesson from the previous match. Dunleavy & Wooley will no doubt be pleased with the ensuing display, with Notts limiting the opposition to half chances for the majority of the second half. And with 10 minutes left on the clock, East marked her Notts County debut with a goal to seal the points. The striker received her just rewards after coming close on a few occasions during the game. The goal confirmed Notts' first win and 3 piints of the season! LAST TIME OUT 27 SEPTEMBER 2020 L. Francis M. Crump A. Holland J. Knott H. Fowler (c) I. Lee C. Taylor C. Hooley E. Rowson N. Zanny came through the ranks at Rush Soccer in Colorado whilst also playing at her high- school. In 2019 Zanny came to visit Nottingham with a view to studying here and squeezed in a visit to Notts County Women along the way. After training with the first team and having a Stadium tour at Meadow Lane with Manager, Adam Dunleavy, the pair kept in touch. Zanny moved to the city to study at the University of Nottingham in 2019, settling in to her new surroundings and establishing herself as a key player in the UoNs Women's football performance programme. Zanny linked up with the squad, putting pen to paper for the 20/21 season. Zanny made her competitive debut for Notts off the bench in the Magpies 3-0 victory over Ilkeston last week. "We were delighted when we knew that Zanny would be studying in Nottingham and the opportunity to add her to the squad came up. Zanny is everything we look for in a new recruit, not only ability wise but character wise too. She brings a really strong work ethic to training and gives us added strength in the forward areas. Zanny can hold the ball and look after possession well, with great feet and a football brain. With Zanny being the first of the UoN girls to play externally this season, it shows what a fantastic environment we have here and the trust the Universities place in us to support their players" A R R I V A L S ALEXANDRA DEORIO Notts are team of talented and devoted players, I am so excited to be a part of it.
