It is located on agricultural land at 8728 Howard Ave, Amherstburg, 200m away from the County Rd 20 crossroad at the Little White Church. This is a high-traffic area pulling shoppers primarily from Amherstburg, Lake Erie cottage country, Harrow, Colchester, Essex, Kingsville, Lasalle and Windsor. Many travellers cross the county to visit our location every Saturday to experience the high quality products, weekly live music, breakfast, fresh coffee and craft beer, as well as the welcoming, laid back open air atmosphere of the brewery and market space. It is always family-friendly and pet-friendly. ● At least 70% of your products must be grown or created in Windsor/Essex or the surrounding area by you. Preference will be given to vendors with a higher percentage and who are located closer to the market site. The balance of your product must still be grown or created locally. ● We are a very cost-effective but quality ‘growers, makers & creators’ market, not a flea market. Used items are not permitted for sale unless they have been transformed into new items, in a creative and artisanal way. MLM and direct sales products are not permitted. ● The AFM Committee reserves the right to select vendors to join our market based on past participation, on ability to commit to more weekends, and on the product/services being offered. We attempt to control product redundancy to avoid too much competition between vendors each weekend. However, we cannot promise the level of product competition each weekend. Others may sell what you sell. ● Each booth space is a maximum of 10’ X 10’. Please contain your product and signage display within this designated space. If your space is larger than 10’ x 10’, you must attain the AFM Committee’s pre-approval and you will be charged additional fees for the extended space. ● Bring your own tent/tables/chairs, etc. Our open air location is prone to strong winds. Tent weights are required and not supplied. Ensure your setup will not damage the ground. Your booth requires tablecloths on all tables and to be appropriately beautified, consistent with our well-known, appealing market reputation. ● The market opens to the public at 9:00am. You may enter the site to start your setup after 7:30am. You are expected to be completely set up and open for business at 9:00am at the very latest. But be prepared; some loyal customers walk the space as early as 8:30am to access the product first, so don’t miss those sales! 2 ● Please bring only one vehicle per vendor, which is to be parked in a designated area. DO NOT leave your vehicle in the GLH lot or on the road where our customers park. Do NOT drive on any grass at GL Heritage. ● NOTE: To avoid pedestrian safety concerns, you MUST unload and move your vehicle to the designated vendor parking area by 8:30am, then finish your booth setup, as necessary. There is no flexibility in this rule. It is a condition of participating in our market, to protect everyone. Late arriving vendors (after 8:30am) will be denied access to the market space by vehicle, to ensure pedestrian safety. You will have to carry your supplies from the road, if there is still booth space available. ● The market closes at 1:00pm. Early take-down prior to market close can result in voiding the contract for future weeks. Take-down should not take more than 45 minutes and the property is to be left as clean and tidy as GL Heritage gave it to us - nothing at all left behind. Any garbage/recyclables are to be removed from the property by you. Don’t dump large amounts of garbage, boxes or other packaging in the brewery bins for their staff to handle Take it home. Do not allow any garbage, produce scraps, tie straps, etc. to be left in the lot, grass, surrounding fields or ditches. ● You are not guaranteed to be assigned the same location every week . Your booth may move. ● Special events at GLH may require vendors to set up in an adjacent location on the property. As a result, vendor’s tents could be located on either gravel or grass. You may not be able to use ground spikes. Plan for ground weights to secure your space, via all 4 corners of your tent. ● There is no electricity or running water available in the market space. Generators are only permitted if they are quiet, and do not interfere with neighbouring vendors, musicians or brewery activities. After the brewery opens at 9am to the public, the rest rooms will be accessible to both vendors and customers. ● Ready-to-eat meals cannot be offered by market vendors to consume on site (no sandwiches, hotdogs, sausage on a bun, etc). GLH already brings in food vendors as part of their regular operations. Packaged ‘takeaway’ meals are permitted to be sold only. ● All vendors must abide by local and provincial Health & Safety regulations. If you are selling any food or even offering bite-sized samples, you must be properly inspected with all associated documents ready to show to on-site weekly Health Unit Inspectors. All vendors must abide by proper food handling regulations. ● Smoking and vaping is not permitted anywhere in this public market space or in GLH public areas . You will be asked to leave if you do not abide by this rule. ● Each vendor’s business name must be clearly displayed. All prices must be clearly marked and displayed prominently. Signage and vendor presentation is very important, and all vendors should strive for an attractive appearance: tent, table cloths, informative signs, multi-tiered display, appropriate decorations. ● IMPORTANT: Bring as much assistance as you need to run your booth from setup, to bio-breaks and shopping breaks, to takedown support. Market volunteers are only intermittently on site and not readily available to cover your booth for you. Please bring your own helpers or ask a fellow vendor. ● History has proven that vendors sell more when they also accept debit and credit, versus only cash. Consider a Point Of Sale (POS) system to connect with your cellular phone. Units are cost effective. ● We run radio and print ads through the season and there will be a significant presence on social media. Please post on your social channels leading up to and when you are at the market, tagging both AFM and GLH channels, using hashtags #AmherstburgFarmersMarket and #GLHeritage 3 ● Prior to attending the market, you must send a logo and at least 3 product images to farmersmarketamherstburg@gmail.com, acknowledging use for marketing purposes. ● Lost, stolen, or damaged property or product is not the responsibility of GLH or AFM. GLH and AFM are free from any liability, including financial responsibility for injuries incurred due to a vendor’s product or booth, or negligence, including during inclement weather or other reasons. If you find your tent to be lifted due to strong winds, plan to take the tent down to avoid injury or damage to you or customers. We are a rain or shine event and will only close or cancel if the weather (wind or lightning) poses a safety risk to vendors and customers. Plan and dress accordingly. Consider clear tarps to protect product from sudden showers. ● We have cultivated a very positive environment at our market, one which is extraordinarily supportive between all vendors, committee members, volunteers and our host, GLH. We are incredibly proud of our unique culture and ask for you to support and recommend your fellow vendors to customers in person and on line. We can all grow together in a substantial way! ● Vendors in breach of this policy and rules will be terminated from the market. AFM reserves the right to void any agreement, without refund, for any reason such as excessive noise, rude, harassing or other inappropriate behaviour. All vendors agree to offer their full cooperation to AFM and GLH staff, and will not disrupt any operations or special events at GL Heritage Brewing Company. AFM and GLH reserve the right to remove vendors who do not follow these policies. ● We donate a spot every week to a charity/nonprofit organization. If you know anyone interested, have them contact us at farmersmarketamherstburg@gmail.com. Payment & Regulations ● All spots are reserved and paid for in advance. Same day payment is not permitted. ● E-Transfers to be sent to afmpayment@gmail.com. Cheques to be made payable to “ Amherstburg Farmers Market ” and mailed to 7831 County RD 20, Amherstburg, On, N9V0C8. ● This is a rain or shine market. We cannot accommodate refunds to vendors who do not attend on their scheduled day, for any personal reason. When you book a spot, space is reserved for you only. We do not reschedule dates for no shows or late cancellations after the week’s lineup has been advertised. ● Completion of this application and submission to farmersmarketamherstburg@gmail.com is not confirmation of acceptance. We will review and provide confirmation to you via email. Please Circle to Acknowledge: YES I have read and reviewed the Amherstburg Farmers Market Vendor Application and the inherent policy and rules. I understand and commit to compliance with all the requirements set out above by the Amherstburg Farmers Market Committee, as well as the Windsor-Essex Health Unit and the Law.
