Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the front door quadrant inner cover (A). 2. Using a flat-tip or remover, remove the front door pull handle mounting cap (A). 3. Disconnect the front door twitter speaker connector (A), and window switch connector (B), mirror switch connector (C). 6. To install, reverse removal procedure. • Make sure the connector is connected properly. • Make sure the door locks / unlocks and opens / closes properly. • Replace any damaged clips (or pin-type retainers). • Make sure the glass is operated properly. Remove the rear seat assembly (Refer to Rear Seat - "Rear Seat Assembly") 2. Carefully remove the rear door body side weatherstrip. 3. Carefully remove the liftgate weatherstrip. 4. Remove the rear door scuff trim. (Refer to Interior Trim - "Door Scuff Trim") 5. Remove the rear transverse trim. (Refer to Liftgate Trim - "Rear Transverse Trim") 6. After loosening the mounting bolt, remove the rear seat belt lower anchor (A). Tightening torque : 39.2 - 53.9 N·m (4.0 - 5.5 Kgf·m, 28.9 - 39.8 lb·ft) 7. To install, reverse removal procedure. place any damaged clips (or pin-type retainers). Page 2 of 2 Kia Global Information System (KGIS) SOUL(SK3) > 2020 > G 1.6 T-GDI GAMMA > Body Electrical System Inspection • Do not cause shock to the speakers by dropping or throwing them. • Be careful not to drop water and oil on the speakers. • Use caution to handle the speaker because diaphragm made of paper is easily torn by impact or external force. • Audio system tuning may cause damage to the speakers. The modified speakers are not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. Basic inspection 1. Loosen the screws to rule out the interference from the body trims and surrounding parts and then remove the speaker. 2. After removing the speaker, check the sound quality of the speaker with the connector plugged in. Inspection for each cause 1. Abnormal vibration (1) Make sure the mounting screws are properly tightened before replacing the speaker. (2) Reinstall the speaker and check that the symptom is resolved. (3) If the symptom does not disappear, replace the speaker with a new one. 2. Noise (1) Check that the speaker connector is properly connected and reinstall the connector if necessary. (2) If noises occur in the radio mode, turn to the media player mode. (3) If noises occur in both modes, replace the speaker with a new one. If noises occur only in the radio mode, the poor radio reception is the cause so do not replace the speaker. 3. Poor working (1) Check the plus (+) and negative (-) speaker terminals using an ohmmeter. If resistance is measured at the specified value shown below, the speaker operation is normal. Front Door speaker : 2.0 Ω Rear Door speaker : 4.0 Ω Center speaker : 2.0 ± 0.3 Ω Tweeter speaker : 4.0 ± 0.6 Ω Midrange speaker : 2.0 ± 0.3 Ω Sub woofer : 2.0 ± 0.3 Ω per coil (4.0 ± 0.6 Ω coil in series) (2) If the measured resistance is different from the specified value, replace the speaker. Removal Front Door Speaker 1. Remove the front door trim. (Refer to Body - "Front Door Trim") 2. Disconnect the connector (A) and then remove front door speaker (B) by loosening the screws. Rear Door Speaker 1. Remove the rear door trim. (Refer to Body - "Rear Door Trim") 2. Disconnect the connector (A) and then remove rear door speaker (B) by loosening the screws. Tweeter Speaker 1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal. 2. Remove the crash pad side cover (A). 3. Remove the side air ventilation duct assembly (A) after loosening the screw. 4. Remove the tweeter speaker (A) by loosening the screws after disconnecting the connector (B). Crash Pad Center Speaker 1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal. 2. Remove the center speaker grille (A). 3. Remove the center speaker (A) after loosening the screws. 4. Disconnect the center speaker connector (A). Midrange Speaker 1. Remove the front door trim. (Refer to Body - "Front Door Trim") 2. After removing the connector (A) from the bracket by pushing it direction of arrow, disconnect the speaker connector. 3. Remove the midrange speaker (A) by loosening the screws. Subwoofer 1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal. 2. Remove the luggage side trim. (Refer to Body - "Luggage Side Trim") 3. Disconnect the connector (A). 4. Remove the subwoofer (A) by loosening the nuts. Installation 1. Install in the reverse order of removal.
