We are an arts and social care charity where creativity is at the heart of all we do. Through playfulness, challenge and creative adventures, we offer people a safe and welcoming space in which to try new things and become inspired. Our artistic work is underpinned by practical support and advocacy, working with people on interconnected issues such as: housing, substance use, LGBTQIA+ rights, education & training, volunteering and money management. To achieve all of this, we have a passionate and dedicated multidisciplinary team who are motivated by working collaborati v ely, openly and creatively. We consider the environmental impact of our work and aim to support and strengthen the sectors we work with by sharing our knowledge, experiences and ideas. We are recruiting for the post of Head of Creative Based in central Manchester reporting to the CEO , the successful candidate will work specifically with male, trans and non - binary sex workers The candidate will lead on all creative provision at Our Room, including developing a strategic approach to creative activity for participants, and managing and delivering a programme of creative activity. To ensure creative activity fosters social, personal, educational and emotional d evelopment for men, trans and non - binary people supported by Our Room. Company Registration: 07073286 / Charity Number: 1146658 Job Description RESPONSIBILITIES Strategy, planning and relationships • L ead the development and implementation of the organisation’s creative vision , in accordance with sector best practice and Our Room’s objectives • In conjunction with the CEO, ensure the delivery of creative projects is underpinned by a robust strategy. • Lead the development of innovative approaches to engaging men, tra ns and non - binary people who sex work in creative projects that respond to their needs. • Build and manage budgets for the creative programme. • Lead the creation and development of partnerships to support the artistic policy and strategic approach to the creative programme. • Ensure participants’ needs and opinions are represented in the development of creative strategy. Delivery • Manage and oversee the delivery of creative sessions. • Take a lead role in the planning and delivery of sharing of work, for example through performances and exhibitions. • Arrange appropriate visits to cultural events for participants • Identify, contract and support all freelance artistic staff and arts agencies, ensuring appropriate engagement skills are equal to their artistic skills; provide supervision as required. • Manage all freelance creative staff, ensuring suitability for Our Room client group and monitoring their contractual time with regular supervision. • Co - lead the development and management of volunteers • In conjunction with the CEO , identify and provide opportunities for participants to develop their skills outside of the core programme. Fundraising • Support and advise the CEO on potential funding streams and applications to support Our Room’s creative programme, particularly arts - focused funding. • W ork with the CEO and Head of Development & Fundraising to identify potential funding opportunities. • Prepare and submi t funding bids. • Ensure good relationships with funders are maintained at all times. • Write and submit funding reports. Safeguarding • In conjunction with the CEO and other staff, develop a safeguarding framework for all creative work. • Ensure safeguarding procedures are adhered to at all times by freelance creative staff and partners. • Ensure creative practice across the organisation is underpinned by safeguarding best practice and trauma - informed practice. General • Represent Our Room at external meetings / conferences as and when required, and advocate for the organisation and participants. • Champion an anti - discriminatory practice and abide by Our Room’s equal opportunities policy. • Work evenings and weekends when required. • Any other responsibilities as appropriate to the job. PERSON SPECIFICATION Criteria Essential Desirable Knowledge Extensive knowledge of current applied arts best practice.
