There are 52 cards in a pack of poker. A poker hand is ma de of five cards. The ranking is in descending order – Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, and 2. Royal flush – It is the highest poker hand and consists of Ace, King, Queen, Jack, and ten all in the same suit. All the suits are equal to the royal flushes. 2. S traight flush – It consists of five cards of the same su it in sequence such as - J - 10 - 9 - 8 - 7 Between two straight flushes, the card with the highest rank is considered. Cards cannot be considered in the reverse flush format. 3. F our of a kind – They are four cards of the same rank, like four Queens. The fifth card can be of any category. Between two fours of a kind, the set with the higher numerical value wins. 4. F ull house – They are three cards of one rank and two of another. For example, thee s evens and two tens. During the comparison, the numerical ranking is considered where the higher numerical value wins. 5. F lush – They are five cards of the same suit where the numerically higher card is considered during a tie. For example, K - J - 9 - 3 - 2 bea ts K - J - 7 - 6 - 5 because the nine beats the seven. 6. S traight – It consists of five cards of mixed suits in sequential order - Q - J - 10 - 9 - 8 . When two sequences are compared, the one with the higher ranking top card ends up as the winner. 7. T hree of a kind – The se are three cards of the same rank along with two other cards , known as Triplets or Trips. The higher ranking is considered when they are compared. 8. T wo pairs – It consists of two cards, or a pair, of equal rank. A hand with two pairs of differen t ranking cards and one odd card to make five cards is also considered. When comparing them, the highest pair wins, irrespective of the card ranking. So, J - J - 2 - 2 - 4 beats 10 - 10 - 9 - 9 - 8 because jacks beat the tens. 9. P air – It is a hand of two cards of equal ran k and three other cards which do not match them. For example, 6 - 6 - 4 - 3 - 2 beats 5 - 5 - A - K - Q 10. H igh card – They are five cards which do not form any of the poker hand combinations listed above. The better highest card wins. For example, A - J - 9 - 5 - 3 beats A - 10 - 9 - 6 - 4 because t he jack beats the ten. Every game has a secret formula to victory.
