Prayer & Praise - Nations, Neighbors and Home! God is calling His people. It is a call to prayer, a call to action, and a call to praise. At TCAB, we are answering that call on behalf of the nations in need, our neighbors who are hurting, and our own homes facing our own very real struggles. Psalm 22 is a guide for all of us as we intercede in prayer and praise the Lord in the face of great evil and suffering… This Psalm begins with an honest Confession in verses 1-8. David is simply being real with God about how he feels deep in his soul. Jesus quoted from verse 1 from the Cross! Sometimes we, too, need to be real with God, ourselves, and others about where we find ourselves and our world. Psalm 22 continues in the spirit of this confession but adds cries for help in verses 9-21. Though the Lord seems “far off,” David cries out to Him to come near and rescue him in the middle of his trial and pain. We need to follow David’s lead and be specific in crying out to God for aid for our own homes, for our neighbors, and for the nations. Finally, this Psalm calls us to praise in verses 22-31. Notice how the Spirit moves David to praise Jehovah, who is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, from his own family, to the congregation, to every nation in the world! God is calling us, His people, to rise up and pray in intercession, rise up and proclaim His Lordship, rise up and live out His Gospel, all while praising His Holy and matchless Name… Jesus Christ. He is Lord of all. He hears, He loves, and will answer in power.
