Dam was administered 25 mg butorphanol [bottle #BI50-7; 50 mg/mL - 0.5 mL] and 25 mg detomidine [10 mg/mL - 2.5 mL], combined and given intravenously, into the RIGHT peripheral auricular vein via 18g butterfly and 3 mL syringe. Initial effects were noted at 2 minutes, decreased responsiveness at 4 minutes (other timestamps: eyelids drooped at 7 minutes, leaning in ERD at 13 minutes). MAINTENANCE: No supplemental injection was needed for this procedure. MONITORING: Monitored with visual assessments of mentation, behaviors, and respirations. RR: 8-12 brpm - spontaneous respirations throughout the procedure.
