Caribbean American Heritage Month was established to create and disseminate knowledge about the contributions of Caribbean people to the United States. Since 2006, June has been designated as Caribbean American Heritage Month by Presidential Proclamation. The month-long observance promotes the rich culture and heritage of the Caribbean American people and their contribution to the United States of America. Caribbean Americans gather during the month of June to celebrate their heritage through many activities. Some of these events are celebrated with: dancing, traditional meals, festivals, parades, concerts, and appreciating their history, among others. Arecibo Job Corps in Puerto Rico for National Caribbean-American Month had an event to celebrate this tradition on June 16, 2021 by welcoming staff at the entrance gate dressed with typical outfits, music, and of course our center mascot “Wulfie”.
